Strokes Posted 19 January 2006 Posted 19 January 2006 I started a thread last week befor sheff wed, asking what people expected to keep Levein here. Although he hasn't yet failed on what i said i expected, the poor performance has turned my stomach so much i cannot take this incompatant fool at the helm of my club any longer. So i ask this question, how long before you decide it is appropiate to take action?? and what will that action be???

My patience with the current situation is wearing pretty thin, as it was around the time we lost to Brighton at home last seaon under Adams. Although at that stage I was not necessarily in favour of him leaving and certainly not in favour of the impatience shown by some of our fans. However, I wasn't displeased when he left either. I think if we fail to pick up at least four points from the next two games, the gamble of sacking Levein may be the best option. If we can turn it around, and I think this is probably our last chance of doing so to avoid relegation, then credit must go to Levein but some serious questions will have to be asked as to why we found ourselves in such a position to begin with.

Katy Posted 19 January 2006 Posted 19 January 2006 The action I have just taken is to draw red glasses on CL on my team photo in my porch. Football wise little old me will continue to go to games at home (and away when funds allow) I think the team need our support and I want to support them. Im guessing if we lose another couple of games on the spin then the board will do something, personally I dont think I could cope with another couple of defeats on the spin and im hoping the board feel the same.

Does anyone think the board would get rid of him even if we went down?? I don't think they would.

I don't think they would. They wont have a choice, if we stay in the bottom three after the cardiff game, he will be gone. I reckon we should arrange a demonstration either inside or outside after the game.

Already City need more than a point a game to have a realistic chance of survival and we are below that ratio just now. I'd be happier if I could see a pattern of play emerging at Leicester and a genuine indication of collective unity but I can't. In fact there seemed more cohesion and sense of purpose about the reserves on Tuesday than the first team Saturday If a draw a game is no good and we've only one once all season away from home why doesn't Levein commit himself to fielding the best attacking side he can muster and committing to it? It might be risky but we could hardly do worse than we have away from home so far and a few wins on our travels might take a bit of the pressure off at home. It really irritated ne Saturday when we swamped Sheffield in the opening stages, got in front and then demonstrably stopped putting so much commitment into our attacks. When will manager's learn. It doesn't work. The orders when we score should be simple. Try to score again.

As we can't keep a clean sheet to save our lives we might just as well go for wins, you never know we might just win 2, of course we could lose all 3, but I suspect we have more chance of winning one out of 3 than drawing 3 out of 3 if we just go for it.

I don't think the board would have any other choice to be honest (You would have thought). However, I'm expecting him to be here until the end of the season, irrespective of form.

I cannot understand how people keep insisting on giving him "another 2 more games" after every single game. He's a joker, and he's f**ked this club up big time - none of us would have predicted or expected this when he was appointed. The longer he stays, the more damage he will do. I am disgusted with Levein at this moment in time and my anger towards him grows after every game. He is a fraud. And the board had better take drastic action soon before our position is irrevocable.

Ahem. You may want to refer back to your comments after the Spurs game. For me, he's got until the end of the transfer window to both bring in a LB and/or RM as well as get good results against Cardiff and QPR.

Err, I said Levein had earned his stay of execution for this week - I did not say that I'd give him another 2 games. There's a hell of a lot of people here keep saying 'the next 2/3 games are vital for us'. Rubbish. What about the last 15? Every game is 3 points, if we hadn't wasted all those games then the next 2/3 wouldn't matter.

Disillusioned Posted 20 January 2006 Posted 20 January 2006 As long as we are in touch with the other clubs tip-toeing around the trap door I think the board will stick by Levein. They are probably of the view that on the balance of probabilities a new incumbent might only make the situation worse. It would be interesting to see what they would do if our position deteriorates to the extent that we need two wins to get out of the bottom three. TD has hardly given CL a ringing endorsement of late. I know he doesn't fancy a £750,000 pay-out to the management team but he is not looking forward to the belt tightening that would be necessitated by a season or two in Division One either (which would prove to be far more costly). If we fall further behind a fans' demonstration similar to the 'Sheffiled Rebellion' (MON's words) might well tip the board into acting.
