Levein Still In the Hunt

The arrival of any more new faces at Leicester City during the transfer window could depend on Craig Levein moving other players out.

The City boss and his coaching squad are still on the look-out for players to strengthen the squad for the fight against relegation.

And Levein has not ruled out another move into the transfer market before January 31.

Since the window opened, City have signed striker Matty Fryatt from Walsall for an undisclosed fee.

"We are still having a look around," said Levein. "It might be that to do anything else I might have to move people on.

"But I am still keeping an eye out and seeing if there's anyone we can strengthen with."

Fryatt, 19, is set to make his home debut on Saturday against Cardiff, when he is likely to link up with England youth international colleague Ryan Smith.

Smith is set to return to the starting line-up after being suspended for last weekend's 2-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.

Midfielder Joey Gudjonsson will miss out though, as he serves the last part of a two-match suspension. Winger Momo Sylla is away with Guinea at the African Cup of Nations and Danny Tiatto has a hamstring injury.

The absence of Gudjonsson could open the way for teenage midfielder James Wesolowski, who came through his first 90 minutes in the reserves on Tuesday since breaking his leg in the summer.

It is understood Wesolowski, who had forced his way into Levein's thoughts before his injury in the pre-season friendly against Celtic, has had no adverse reaction and will be included in the City squad.

Levein said: "Part of the problem on Saturday was that we had five midfield players that we couldn't select for various reasons. With James and Ryan, we have two players to add to the squad, which is pleasing."

It is also hoped that Richard Stearman, who was forced off at Hillsborough with a dead leg, will have recovered in time.

What car does steve mcmanaman drive? I saw a red ferrari driving up Narb Rd yesterday with the reg 888 MAC. I know we had talks with him in the summer, but his wage demands were too high. Dont think he is currently playing for anyone, so maybe he's willing to take a massive pay cut just to play football, what we'd be prepared to pay him must be better than what he is currently on..... Nothing!
