Reserves Squad Revealed

Joe Hamill is named in a youthful second-string squad to face Portsmouth this evening (Wednesday).

The Scotsman will be in the starting line-up for the reserves as they look for another strong performance on the back of last night's fantastic victory for the first team at QPR.

Hamill is joined in the side by Alan Sheehan as the only players selected with first team experience to their name, though teenage star Ashley Chambers will be on the bench for City.

The fixture kicks-off at 7pm at the Marston's Stadium, the home of Hinckley United.

CITY: Alex Cisak, Joe Magunda, Alan Sheehan, Adam Wykes, Liam Norval, Connor Franklin, Max Gradel, Andy King, Eric Odhiambo, Louis Dodds, Joe Hamill

Subs (not used): Ashley Chambers, Carl Pentney, Joe Mattock, Ricky Muggleton, Jay Smedley

Who would have taken the reserves to the game - Kelly & Stowell? Wasn't Houston the res team coach before?

This Bloke:

oals Galore
0,,10274%7E2756374,00.jpgLeicester's reserves were on top for much of the match in an eight goal thriller, drawing 4-4 with Portsmouth.

Those who braved the cold were treated to an exciting game in which the young Foxes continually tormented the Premiership opposition with their pace, and though in the end they had to share the points, City can take a lot of pride from their performance.

Stowell was in the stands, but Kelly wasn't. Beaglehole was the coach tonight.

Louis Dodds scored two good goals in the first half, followed by King, with Mornar scoring twice for Pompey one which was a definite handball in the run up to the goal making it 3-2 at half time. Leicester just dominated the first half and could have had 5 goals. Second half was dominated by Pompey but Max Gradel made it 4-2, and then Pompey scored two late on to make it 4-4.

The lads played really well, I was well impressed by Dodds because he just showed what a great finish he has. All the scouts that turned up (there were quite a few) will no doubt be reporting back to their teams to sign Doddsy after todays performance. Gradel impressed me with his skill, but his final balls lacked quality. Sheehan wasn't that great, just kept hoofing it up to the strikers and more often than not just booted it out of play, showed again why he isn't quite ready to play in the first team. Hamill was unbelievably shit - if he is "one for the future" (as CL said), then god help us.

And it was bloody cold!
