Muz Posted 16 October 2004 Posted 16 October 2004 Listned to Mike Newells post match reaction earlier. And there was something really intresting that he said. When asked about the unbeaten run he said 'Well obviously i am very proud of my team and im glad i could help Luton to top of league but our 13 match unbeaten run was going to end one day.I just hope that we can mantain our excellent position whether i am here or not' What does that tell you?! Has he had contact or his he saying 'Come and get me'.
Durnerz Posted 16 October 2004 Posted 16 October 2004 George Graham wasnt taking his usual stance as a pundit on premplus (Man City V Chelsea) earlier, I wonder if he's in talks with us.

Are you being sarcastic? 27212 I hope he is - cos then we'd have a third dinosaur managing LCFC! But that quote by Mike Newell does suggest that something is going on.
Muz Posted 16 October 2004 Author Posted 16 October 2004 Oh sorry Durnerz i thought you were! Does seem very weird about Newell though!
Durnerz Posted 16 October 2004 Posted 16 October 2004 Oh sorry Durnerz i thought you were!Does seem very weird about Newell though! 27217 No worries mate (unless the manager's gregory ) I'm sure we'll hear a lot of names thrown about over the coming weeks. I may even put myself forward
Ricey Posted 16 October 2004 Posted 16 October 2004 There was a interview with Newell on Football Focus this morning and my respect for him has grown greatly, I would love to see him here.

So would i mate Did anybody watch Gillette soccer special today there was a video of MA's time at leicester and then they said who'd want to manage them.It then went to Greggory who smiled and then said the club had alot of potntial.Jeff Stelling then said well if you get the Leicester job you can switch places with Micky Admas and he can be a pundit on here! Please god NO!
Wellman Posted 16 October 2004 Posted 16 October 2004 noooo, please not. I DONT want gregory as manager as he is a former sheep and if we were to appoint someone like him, we would be taking a MASSIVE step backwards imo

Wellman Posted 16 October 2004 Posted 16 October 2004 , good good. We should start singing mike newells blue 'n' white army on tuesday night. Apart from scowy
Ric Flair Posted 18 October 2004 Posted 18 October 2004 I would love George Graham to be Leicester manager, just because he has been a manager for about twenty years doesn't make him a dinosaur. There is a difference between Bassett, Wilkinson and Graham. Wilkinson and Bassett have been shit for years, where as Graham has always been relatively consistent. He's different class to Bassett and Wilkinson has lost the plot so no contest there. Newell is still unproven, but he is a gamble worth taking in my opinion.
SilverFox Posted 18 October 2004 Posted 18 October 2004 Newell also said in the Mercury that he was happy at Luton...how is being happy in Luton possible?!?!?!
