Anish Posted 20 February 2006 Posted 20 February 2006 Not work exactly - but study. Live in Leicester, uni in Nottingham. 2 buses, one train, and a 15 minute walk. Each way. 1 hour 45 minutes approximately. 1 hour 30 mins on a very good day (rare!), 2 hours on a bad day. 'Only' have to put up with it for another 4 months thankfully.
Matt Posted 20 February 2006 Posted 20 February 2006 Live in Nuneaton, Work in Hinckley = Traveling time about 5/10 Minutes, If that sometimes on a clear road a couple of minutes.

Do you get the 7.56 train from Leicester to Nottingham? Thought I saw someone that looked like you last Monday.

Muz Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 I have to go to College in Derby for a week every 3 months. AND Prideless park is right next to me when I look out of the window there it is
Guest Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 I travel from one side of Leicester to the other. It's about 7.8 miles and should take 20 minutes, according to the AA route planner. In reality, it takes about 20 minutes at 5.15am. At worst, it can take 50 minutes. Most of the time, it's 40 minutes.

Muz Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 I commute from Leicester to Newark (NOTTS), takes me about 50 minutes!!! Newarks near me Shit Hole
Foxing_Around Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 It takes me just shy of ten minutes to walk to work, whereas for one unlucky chap here it can take him anything upto two hours to get home!
Nationwider Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 I can drive to/from work in 20 mins or 45-50 mins, depending on what time of day I arrive/leave. I'm quite fortunate that my workplace is open from v.early until late so I can come and go when I like....within reason. My 10-mile commute is likely to become a 50-mile commute in a year or so's time. Mo money, mo problems. I don't mind the time spent in the car. Its good for thinking and music. I hate the cost however.
Chimp Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 Live in Leicester but commute to Birmingham, it can take anywhere between 50mins to an hour and a half depending on how bad the traffic is on the M6. A couple of times it's taken me over 2 and a half hours, a couple of times I've not even been able to get on the M6 from the M69 so have turned round and come back home. Damn, I hate the M6.

What do you do in Birmingham that makes that hellish drive worthwhile I wonder?!
