Leicester Lass Posted 2 March 2006 Posted 2 March 2006 Bit of a dodgy meaning but it is a cracking word!
The People's Hero Posted 2 March 2006 Posted 2 March 2006 Today's word was picked for its onomatopoeic qualities... Wahey!
Knighton Matt Posted 2 March 2006 Author Posted 2 March 2006 Perhaps thunk would have been more apt? I expect alexikokopops will be a particular connoisseur of Fadoink given the content of his signature.
Phube Posted 2 March 2006 Posted 2 March 2006 Today's word was picked for its onomatopoeic qualities... Not only a qulity thread but I feel the use of words with more than 3 syllables really increases the tone of a football forum!!
The People's Hero Posted 2 March 2006 Posted 2 March 2006 I feel that the words given fleeting access to the stage of this thread should be used widely in other threads of the forum such that other threads may become enlightened through the actions of a selfless few.

davieG Posted 2 March 2006 Posted 2 March 2006 It was supposed to be humorous, but i think it fell flat.Nevermind. Well fadoink me then what a dick I am

The People's Hero Posted 2 March 2006 Posted 2 March 2006 I thought we established that he was in a barbershop quintet?

Nationwider Posted 2 March 2006 Posted 2 March 2006 I thought we established that he was in a barbershop quintet? We never did get to the bottom of that particular mystery. Or did we? Or did we?* *failed attempt to build suspense.
Knighton Matt Posted 2 March 2006 Author Posted 2 March 2006 For all this thread's qualities, I now have to put up with Gere's nipple popping into view whenever I scroll up this page.

Jay Posted 2 March 2006 Posted 2 March 2006 Oh YES! it looks very similar to your pet aardvark!!!
Knighton Matt Posted 2 March 2006 Author Posted 2 March 2006 it looks very similar to your pet aardvark!!! When was the last time you saw his pocket aardvark?!!
Nationwider Posted 2 March 2006 Posted 2 March 2006 Perhaps or did we .... would have been more apt? The combination of italics the unsure smiley works for me. Not a sentence you hear very often. Then again, you don't hear many sentences in this thread very often.
The People's Hero Posted 2 March 2006 Posted 2 March 2006 I thought I'd interject here and say something which is completely irrelevant in many ways, apart from perhaps the identity of the previous poster. I just watching the film Nationwider for about the 5th time. Timeless classic. San Diego is actually German for a Whale's Vagina. Classic!

I just watching the film Nationwider for about the 5th time. Timeless classic. San Diego is actually German for a Whale's Vagina. Classic! I just read that and thought "there isn't film called Nationwider, is there???" Then the penny dropped. I'm having a slow day. I'll have to get me old avatar back up. I was a bit startled recently when "Ron Burgundy" joined the site and swiped my trusty pic. Having a sesh tomorrow afternoon - very early start. When I get back a little the worse for wear, I'll have to watch it. It's the rules. "I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany."
The People's Hero Posted 2 March 2006 Posted 2 March 2006 It's so random and brilliant. I've made my girlfriend watch it 2 or 3 times now, she just doesn't like it. Still it makes up for Coyote Ugly, Save The Last Dance, et al.

Still it makes up for Coyote Ugly, Save The Last Dance, et al. It's somewhere in my top 5 favourite ever films. It shouldn't be, but I'm not a film buff. I've never known a single woman to like that film. It's a bit like Airplane. It must be to do with parts of the brain or something. This might make an interesting thread. His and Hers films.... Coyote Ugly is a savagely bad film.

Do women know this and just feel obliged to like it? Or do they really have such little taste? Discuss. Other films which are great despite critics invariably telling you otherwise: Top Gun Battle Royale Cool Runnings This thread could inspire any number of new threads, there is about 4 threads just waiting to burst out of this one.
Nationwider Posted 2 March 2006 Posted 2 March 2006 As a mark of respect to Knighton Matt, I've started a separate film thread.
The People's Hero Posted 2 March 2006 Posted 2 March 2006 Yes, we mustn't allow this to drift too far off topic. It's a discerning thread though... it knows it can meander, but there are limits, it has focus.
Knighton Matt Posted 2 March 2006 Author Posted 2 March 2006 As a mark of respect to Knighton Matt, I've started a separate film thread. Fear not my good friend Nationwider, the beauty of this thread is its own irrelevance!
