Jonbluefox9 Posted 5 March 2006 Posted 5 March 2006 Didn't look like he had a right foot to me. Not bad debut though. He passes and moves rather than standing still and watching what happens and he's not afraid to run with the ball at his feet. Didn't get to see how good his delivery is though.

Very Keith Gillespie-ish just left sided instead. Looked decent to me though, not as dazzling as Ryan Smith but will work hard for the cause.
werestandingup_weresittingdown Posted 6 March 2006 Posted 6 March 2006 i thought he was excellent. he was on for only a short period of time yet he was the ONLY city player to get to the dead ball line in the whole game. His directness and trickery resulted in our winner. He got behind their defence, got to the by line and then nils and joey did the rest. What i liked about him was that when he gave the ball he moved and demanded it back. He WANTED to be on the ball. always a good sign.
Dr The Singh Posted 6 March 2006 Posted 6 March 2006 Looked OK, doesn't seem to have the pace of Smith and I don't think he will beat many defenders but he looks a more intelleigent sort of player, too early to make a judgement though!!!
moseeds Posted 6 March 2006 Posted 6 March 2006 Leave Smith alone! He's been a breath of fresh air especially after years of watching players being more bruisers than ballet dancers! Smith's a young chap who obviously enjoys playing football like how it should be played. He's not been as effective as his first few games whether that is due to illness or injury or whatever. But he is a player most of us enjoy watching and I'm sure the team appreciates having someone like him there too. We should be glad we have got another silky player in the form of Welsh (I think).
