What he did at Brighton at the end of the game - ripping off his shirt and throwing it down and jumping on it in front of Kelly was disgusting and I'd chin the tvvat if I was younger for disrespecting the City shirt like that. Get rid.

Get rid. well he is only 19 he aint going to be playing like giggs week in week out, as for the shirt thing thats the 1st i've heard of it, there would have been a thread on it on here if he had you obviously just dont like him, fiar enough but for a large part of the season he was our most creative player so.

When was that? End of November? Gives the ball away in dangerous area too often. Doesn't track back. Doesn't tackle. Doesn't cross the ball into killer areas. So what does he do? Bit of flash nutmegging and switching of feet but nothing ever comes of it. Luxury player. We can't afford him to fanny about in a relegation battle. He won't get in the Arsenal first team. Will end up somewhere like Villa or West Brom. Shocking at Brighton. Came on as sub. Taken off after 15 minutes. Kelly said he had flu but didn't seem like it the tantrum he had at the end of the game. I understand the academy kids at City can't stand him. Thinks he's jack the lad. It's easy to jump on the bandwagon and say he's not committed enough and can't defend, etc but we weren't all saying that before christmas when he was literally bringing us to our feet every time he got the ball. I think it's fair to say that every player was pretty damn crap for us over the christmas period and early January that was because of the rot that had set in with Levein. Since he has gone, Smith has made about 3 apperances all from off the bench. I still think that if he wad given a proper run in the side again he'd excel, look at Hume since Levein has gone. He went off the boil like Smith has and now he's back with a bang. He might not deliver the killer ball, but in the games he's played I think he's got a pretty good games to assists ratio. He was also excellent in the second half against Spurs and set two goals up, even though one of them was a crap corner that bobbled through to Hughes. Talking of Hughes, what does he ever do? His creativity is about as frequent as bernie's undercrackers change, rare!. I hadn't heard about his altercation with Rob Kelly at Brighton, possibly does add up as to why he hasn't been in the squad much since. Although he did come on against Derby a few days after that game and looked pretty dangerous.

Dr The Singh Posted 2 March 2006 Posted 2 March 2006 As far as I am concerned, he's leaving at the end of the season, and Kelly signing Welsh indicates that he doesn't want him next season, so I suppose RS is just passing time at city. It's a shame really, RS is very talented but very young and has alot to learn, and I wished he could have been a city player for a long time. Everyone makes mistakes and every player goes through a bad patch and RS is no different!!!

I went wild about him at first, but even I have to admit he hasn't exceeded my expectations of him. Partly his fault, partly the situation we were in when he played regularly. I've spoke to the lad a few times and he doesn't seem to be a big time charlie, infact he seemed very timid. But on the pitch on training ground he could be a twat I suppose.

He talks about "the right sort" and people with "the right attitude" and he's not alone in wanting a dedicated, hard-working, talented and totally compliant staff who won't rock the boat and won't ever be unco-operative or disruptive. Trouble is people aren't like that and, even worse, people who are are not necessarily the sort who make champions. If he cannot put Smithy type outbursts into perspective how would he ever have managed with George Best, Frank Worthington, Roy Keane, Wayne Rooney and loads of other winners?. Top people, sportsmen included, aren't all made in the Kelly mould of being self-effacing, modest and self-sacrificing. You've gotta cope with the ego's the temperament, the reactionary aggression, the back-chatters etc. And after a couple of seasons of not winning anything he might learn that it is these passionate and temperamental types whose character and personality so often makes them into winners. The situation is that when we were winning he wasn't in the team and you don't change a winning team. Since we haven't been winning and there's been the odd change he's been injured so there's not alot that could have been done. If he doesn't get a chance before the end of the season then it's safe to say that perhaps there has been a problem but it's far too early to tell. Kelly doesn't seem like the sort of chap to hold grudges, Levein was though.

Can anyone confirm for me that Andy Welsh is definetly now on loan for us and *may* play for us today?

Must say from his 20 minutes he looked pretty good, prepared to run at defenders. How he didn't score is beyond me - reminded me of giggs' miss a few years ago in the FA cup
