Hay up me duck Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 Maybe peter taylor has a point concerning certain teams and moving to a new stadium. Heres a list of relegated teams moving to a new stadium when they were in the premier - and look what happened. Relegated Middlesborough twice Sunderland twice Leicester Coventry Southampton. Derby i'm sure there are other teams that have renovated their stadiums and this has created a loss of form, such as wolves. Maybe we should have stayed at Filbert st .

Cov have been down for a few years now, they moved into their new stadium this season. I'm sure Derby were in Gay Pride Park long before they got promoted to the preimership too

Whether we moved or stayed put the capacity would have to have been increased regardless and anyway the ground was looking its age.

davieG Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 Since practically every regular top two division team has either rebuilt or had major r2novations in the last 5/10 years it's not really surprising.
surrifox Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 Millwall went tits up after the new Den was built and Wimbledon are on a one way ticket to oblivion . Mind you I'd like to see these two regularly on the move .....
Jay Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 but surely you can probably find many examples of clubs that have done well since moving to a new stadium or developing the old one Wigan Bolton Reading Hull Charlton Chelsea Plymouth Swansea Man City Middlesborough got promoted and Europe, won a trophy as well as relegation
