Thats cus the hindus make an effort to celebrate it, last week was Vaisakhi which is the equivalent of xmas to the Sikh faith and we celebrated it by the usual march of the sikh warriors. I believe St Georges day should be celebrated but if us English are not going to get our fingers out of our arses and make an effort to celebrate it then whats the point. Is there any english heritage societies or other organisations that can get together and do something???

I know most are quite happy at sitting in the pub and getting drunk but what about the kids, they need to be involved and taught about english heritage and feel proud to be english. This government\council spends alot of money on other occassions this day should be no different!!!!

Fosse have an important game on Sunday but then its down the Dry Dock after I guess. More should be made of St Georges Day, people shouldnt feel ashamed to be English which sadly a lot of people do :(

I think over the next few years you will see a massive upswing towards pride in England and being English, after years of stiffeling by what is in effect a Scottish goverment (Blair, Brown, Reid e.t.c.).
