New Players

Last home game played. One more to go. We can still reach spot number 12 in the Championship.

But most importantly, we've avoided relegation, the scary monster.

Who would be realistic additions to the squad for next season and why?

Discuss.

Well we do need a new winger/s, and I would love to see Darren Currie, as a 'luxury', more unrealistic target as I know he has been at Ipswich for some time now and whenever I've seen him play for them he is one of their better players...

I just see him as the perfect winger. Fast, good on the ball, can take it past people, get the crosses in, score goals (sometimes) and actually (some of you may remember) was the supplier of both of the goals which led to City's 2-0 defeat at Portman Road against Ipswich earlier on in the season.

Another winger I would love to see pull on a City shirt is Luton winger Carlos Edwards. This guy reminds me of Shaun Wright-Phillips, he is quick, gets crosses in, can take it past people like theres no tommorow and is, in my opinion, a brilliant winger.

I'm not too sure who I would like to see to replace Joey in the midfield, although I most certainly think that Muzzy Izzet can be on for a possible return to Leicester, with Birmingham as good as down, and with him not having a great career there, and us needing a midfielder, they all add up I guess.

What do any of you think of that??

Darren Currie is a definite no. I have couple of mates who support Ipswich and they agree that although he can produce moments of quality, he is slow, lazy and uncommitted.

Carlos Edwards is a very good player although I think he would command a fee near £1m which we clearly won't have.

Please bring the legend back!!!!!!

Colin Kazim-Richards of Brighton who was believed to be a city target before he moved to the seagulls is a great talent. Can play up front, on either wing or attacking midfield.

Rich Lambert of Rochdale is another underrated talent from the lower leagues, could be useful after a few months of intensive training at this level.

Djourou of Arsenal is a versatile defender that would be a useful loan signing.

Well if he's happy to take a £30K aweek pay cut. :P

Darren Currie is a certain no.

Kazim Richards would be brilliant , we could maybe steal him for 500k.

Well, aren't we supposed to get the other half out of the Connolly deal at the end of this season, as well? What was it again? Another 1.5 million quid?

Like the idea with Djourou, would be the first Swiss international playing in a Leicester shirt.

£1mill and it's already been spent to cover for the lower gates under Levein.

already spent on lost revenue from ticket sales.

A draw really as we all clocked the same time. :)

Anyhoo, in this case a big "Thank you!" to Mr. Levein and his (in many ways) very unattractive style of playing.

His style of play was not that unattractive, well certainly not compared to the Adam's way. He just couldn't buy a win from anyone and people are not inclined to pay to watch a losing team however attractive the football may be.

Stewards Enquiry.

I'll ask Mark to include seconds on the clock.

I hope Kelly can get a bargain like with McCarthyr from a prem club like Man city who have a good youth setup.

After all it was Kelly who initiated this transfer not Levein and it only cost 100k, I think! Look what a player he has become!

i have a feeling most of our good young signings such as fryatt, hume mccarthy etc... were initiated by kelly as training youngsters is what he has done most of his career, therefore must have an eye for a player.

Hope so its the best way forward for us. Steve Kabba or Geoff Horsfield aren't gona be good enough for Sheff Utd in the Prem could be useful as back up strikers to Fryatt Hume and O'Grady.

Personally, I think we need to focus on adding a greater goal threat from the midfield. With Joey on his way, we are crying out for someone who can attract defenders out and free up space for Matty and Humey. We wil be solid enough at the Walkers next season but it is turning away 'points' into victories that is the key to pressing for a top six place.

I would like to see the returning Joel Porter brought in from Hartlepool. He has been injured for the majority of this season and they have missed his influence terribly. He can play upfront or as an attacking midfielder. The likes of Tiatto and Kisnorbo may help persuade him here being fellow Aussies.

In addition, perhaps we could try and persuade Van Gaal to reduce the loss of Joey by allowing us to bring in AZ's Barry Van Galen? He may be getting on in years but boy does he score goals from midfield - and he is left-sided! The 'genial madman' may fancy one last hurrah.

Can you also tell Mark to let me start topics again, as there is some topics I would love to start and I dont have a clue why I have been not able to start them anymore :(

Who's this Kazim-Richards kid from Brighton? Not heard of him much until now. Will we be facing competition for him??

TPH claims his lazy as fock, so perhaps not such a good idea.

We had him on trial from Bury , then when Brighton won that Coke money they bought him for 250k.

He has alot of potential.

Lazy as fu ck and has attitude problems. Even the Brighton fans hate him and their standards are seriously low. If you want another Elvis Hammond.... then good idea.

:(
