martyn Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 Sebastien Carole was impressive at the withdean. With Brighton down he may not command too high a fee.
Ric Flair Posted 24 April 2006 Posted 24 April 2006 Obviously with us having hardly any money the only way we'll pay a trabsfer fee for anyone will be if we sell someone. But i'll throw a few targets in to the ring for no more than £200,000 Mark Jones from Wrexham, goalscoring midfielder only 22 and a Welsh international. Far too good for Wrexham and is championship class. Frutos and Carole from Brighton, them pair on the wings would improve us and they'll be available for a small fee I think. Glen Little from Reading, got a feeling Reading might let him go as they are going to throw money at trying to stay up and he could be got rid of. Quality at this level. Jay Tabb from Brentford, if Brentford don't get promoted then they are financially nailed and we could get this lad for peanuts. I've heard QPR have got to get rid of some of their high earners and Marc Bircham and Lee Cook are both getting the chop. Both of them would be good enough for us, even if Bircham is a thug, Cook is very tricky.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 24 April 2006 Posted 24 April 2006 i doubt we could afford him but i'd like us to sign gary mcsheffery from cov

The Don Posted 24 April 2006 Posted 24 April 2006 I think that's the under-statement of the year unfortunately. Dunno ric, don't think he fits the plans of MA. Too young, too energetic.

dandannieldanok Posted 24 April 2006 Posted 24 April 2006 I know Cardiff will probably have first refusal on him, but I would love to see Jason Koumas alongside Gareth Williams next season. Koumas has genuine quality!
T-Bone Posted 24 April 2006 Posted 24 April 2006 I just wonder if Kelly's signing's will come in the way of staff and not players! I think he'll probably have to get loan signings in - maybe younger players like Paddy McCarthy but from Blackburn or something, players that he knows, he was at Blackburn for a while i think.

Chairman of the Bored Posted 24 April 2006 Posted 24 April 2006 I know he's just signed a new 4-year deal with Bournemouth but Jamie Hayter has been mustard this season. Rangers were interested at one point. What about Matt Holland at Charlton? He's in/out at the moment. Good player - might take the holding role alongside Gareth. Also, wade Elliot and Gareth O'Connor from Burnley. All ex-Bournmeouth players, I know, but they're good and wouldn't cost a packet.
Gené and Tonic Posted 24 April 2006 Posted 24 April 2006 Simon Whalley and David Nugent have done wonders from League 2 for Preston. Maybe we should look down there? Who knows, the style of league 2 may be similar to that of the championship, enabling the players to adapt quicker.
Guest Gist Posted 24 April 2006 Posted 24 April 2006 I think Gallager from Blackburn would be ideal I assume he isn't on much money and even if we did not buy him we could possibly get him on loan for the season.

As u say a thug and also qpr through and through! couldnt imagine this guy leaving although i maybe proved wrong. Mark Jones though is a great shout but i can imagine Wrexham holding out 4 the highest bidder on that one. I feel it'll b a few young freebies plus possibly 1 old prem midfielder coming in.
Magictv Posted 25 April 2006 Posted 25 April 2006 1 million , and Davies has said that its already been spent so what the hell would have happened if wigan were to have gone down?
Ric Flair Posted 25 April 2006 Posted 25 April 2006 so what the hell would have happened if wigan were to have gone down? Good point, but I think it was pretty clear that wasn't going to happen come christmas so that's why we spent the money on Fryatt and to get rid of Levein and the other sweaties.
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 April 2006 Posted 25 April 2006 I know Cardiff will probably have first refusal on him, but I would love to see Jason Koumas alongside Gareth Williams next season. Koumas has genuine quality! I think that could probabley be the most lazy ( and horrible ) Midfield pairing even mentioned.
Ric Flair Posted 25 April 2006 Posted 25 April 2006 Along with Glen Little who might be quite hard to get hold of but Stephen Hunt from Reading is a useful left winger and although he's made over 30 appearances for Reading this season only 2 have been from the start in the league. Season long loan?
Dr The Singh Posted 25 April 2006 Posted 25 April 2006 As we have no cash, maybe Kelly will look to the 'loan' market, we've had some success with smudger, maybe others will follow!!!

Season long loan? Little has always been extremly useful at this level, and he wont come to cheap despite his advancing years. He may be a little hard to get hold of but id say he's worth ago. He's alot better then Hunt IMO and has alot more experince which apparently is what we need ( hence Tiatto )
teblin Posted 25 April 2006 Posted 25 April 2006 Think Andy Johnson from West Brom may be coming here! but we need A keeper - not sure any of the ones we got are good enough to be in a promotion push A left Back - Johansson Is much better in the centre A Central Mid - No joey, Wesolowski cannot be relied on to fill in too much pressure A striker - someone a little different to what we have bigger player but stil mobile and a Winger - some needed pace on the flanks

That leaves them with about 5 wingers and you'd think they will want to bring someone more high profile in aswell. Little is 32 in october and has one year left on his contract, but he has made 35 starts for them this season so he will be harder to get than I first thought.
coale39 Posted 25 April 2006 Posted 25 April 2006 What does everyone think of Gareth Roberts (Tranmere Rovers). Ive seen him once and he looked very solid at left back + will give us some more experience. Might be a bit hard to get though (heard hull are interested in him)

Lets face it he's 32 they aren't going to offer him another deal & wheather or not he's good enough for the prem is extremly debatable. Would love to see Little here but unfortuantely I should think he will be going elsewhere.
