Daggers Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 Has anyone else tried to buy Subbuteo on Ebay? My family laugh at my ambition to construct a display of little plastic men...but I'm hooked on the concept. I went to bid on a little plastic cup and the geezer wants over fifty quid for the thing. How mad is that?! Heavyweight teams going for sixteen sobs - who would pay that much? Not me, that's for sure matey...
Hitesh Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 I remember the days of Subbuteo!! It was awesome!! I dont think id have the patience for it anymore!
Wils Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 It used too be quality, exept they used to snap if you flicked them too hard, and they fcuking hurt if you stand on them!! And the cloth that was the pitch used to get ruined in the box, apart from that you cant beat it
davieG Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 I've still got the cloth pitch stuck to a piece of 8x4 hardboard somewhere.
Wils Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 I've still got the cloth pitch stuck to a piece of 8x4 hardboard somewhere. That was the best way to use it,i just use to throw mine in the box and next time i got it out it wouldnt lay flat on the floor!! Has it come back into fashion then?
Knighton Matt Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 I used to hate the way if you folded the cloth you had to iron it before you played the next time. Either that or just settle for some pretty unatural undulation on the pitch.
Matt Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 I've still got the cloth pitch stuck to a piece of 8x4 hardboard somewhere. Same here, Its in my garage I think.
City Fan Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 I've got the roll on Astro Pitch so have no problem with the cloth not going on straight!
Daggers Posted 29 May 2006 Author Posted 29 May 2006 Because of the ridges in the pitch - every game was like a 3rd round FA cup tie away at non-league opposition
Cobbo Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 I used to love subbuteo. Had different style goals, loads of stands and things Bloody class. I want to play it again!
