I'll be going, but I wouldn't blame fans for not turning up with the pathetically high prices the club still charge.....

pay for me travel expenses and make sure i can get back to worcester in one peice (i'd have to travel on the train with cov fans which is the main reason im not going) then i'd happily take me seat tomorrow night ;)

I think most people on here will be going as they have Season tickets. I'll be working there too - but I expect there to be a fairly big crowd seeing as though it's a derby and it's Levein's first game. Also, I bet the club gave away a number of free tickets to celebrate the 120th anniversary thing too.

20k tickets sold is terrible

I think we're beginning to see just how many 'real' supporters LCFC has nowadays. I think we have about 21/22k supporters who make every game whatever the weather and however well the team are doing. The 32,000 crowds we have experienced for the last 2 years was down to a) the relatively cheap prices in Div 1; b ) the new stadium effect; c) the success of the team in Div 1 and the fact that we were in the Premiership last season.

Now that all those factors have disappeared a number of fans who simply jumped on the bandwagon have also jumped ship.

That's my opinion anyway.

What business is it of the Foxes Trust anyway? It's not like you can change the situation is it.

Changing a KO with barely a week's notice and then charging excessive prices for the privilege is obvious, but most likely.

I'm really pi**ed off I can't make!

The period of notice the club gave us about the date change was really poor. Not very fair on fans who have shifts, live out of town or who have to make special plans for week games.

I'm with kerry on this. I have to travel to Manchester, back to Hull, to Goole (to pick up more foxes), down to Leicester and back to Hull today just because of Sky TV. I'm lucky because I'm my own boss but I know of a few people that can't be in their usual seats because of the change.

If the club are going to celebrate 120 years in existence thats okay but to give a few days notice of a kick off change is wrong.

Just read the article.

Find the last comment somewhat patronising.

People will come to games as and when they want to. Like Anish says, our level of support at the moment represents our current position, i.e. bottom half of division 2.

I would be going if it was on a saturday. But as it's on a monday night, my dad won't take me out of school so it's not my fault! I would probs have to leave at 2ish just to get to Leicester! But as it's on the tele, it's not to bad, but i would of loved to be there ;)

21/22,000 isn't a bad attendance anyway for a club our size. It's inevitable the crowds would dwindle after the novelty of the stadium wore off. Couple that with the mongoles that are in charge of this club and charge an obscene amount of money to watch a team that before now was a complete shambles and an embarassment.

The club need to become more market orientated and listen to the fans, we aren't unreasonable and we don't want to put the club out of business. But I can't see why they can't charge £15 maximum for each game in this league. I would bet my life that the club would see 30-32,000 fans each home game.

17,000 season ticket holders at an average of £250 = £4,250,000

15,000 spare seats x £15 = £225,000 x 23 = £5,175,000

That totals £9,425,000

Now I know it's not that simple and i've probably 'sexed up' the amount they'd earn there due to the crowds but I bet they don't earn anywhere near that at over the course of the season.

I'll be going (if I can get my bottom down to the ticket office) Luckily the change has enabled me to go. I work shifts and tonight is a free night. Sat or Sun I'd be working. I can understand the anger and frustration of the ones that go regular tho. I could go to Willie Thornes and watch it on Sky and have a couple of pints as well but the amount of times I will get this oppotunity is very few so whatever it costs over the season it will not be too bad. If I had to pay every week I may not see every game. For me its a special treat and I'll make a night of it. Meal before, drinks programme and maybe even a Balti pie.

That was only one of our objectives.

Another was to represent fans views. With that in mind part of the reason for asking was so we had posts explaining the issues fans individually faced in not being able to go.

We will be asking how much money we will receive from Sky & compare that with the potential lost ticket sales for not being on a Sunday & that more would have gone to the game had that no got an easy option of watching on Sky.

The late switch was Sky spotting the story of our new managers home game.

Re the idea of £15 for all matches, thats unrealistic, no club in the division is offering prices that low all season. The club are doing different offers to encourage more fans like the £15 price for members against Plymouth & the kids for a £1 vs Reading.

But you don't.

At the time the Trust was set up, I said this would happen, and it would be unrealistic. One organisation cannot represent the fans fairly, as we all have different needs and requirements from the club.

Things like the Fans Forum are best, as this includes a mix of fans, and all views can be put forward.

Whatever views you present to the board on any subject relating to the fans, somebody is going to feel unrepresented.

I read an article from Wigan's chairman and they only charge those prices, they charge the least amount in the championship and they get abysmal attendances so it must be feasible for a club to do.

Nope, they only charge low prices beacuse they have a wealthy "sugar daddy"

It doesnt make much difference to them, it does to us. Most of our income depends on Gate Receipts. And the prices they are charging now brings in more income then the prices they were charging in the last promotion season. It makes business sense. That is what the club would argue.

Yes but they probably aren't making anymore money than the last time we were in this division because gates are down 9-10,000!! Which is like £200,000 a game. They should value the fans more in my opinion.

I can understand why the game was moved, but I thought you had to announce changes like this 14 days or more before kick off?

I can remember last season against Birmingham at home. Although it wasn't a Sky game, they moved the kick off forward to a 12:00 kick off because of security reasons on police recommendations. Now, this was only announced a week before kick off, which meant I couldn't arrange time off work to finish early and watch the game.

The club really couldn't give a toss sometimes. No matter how much the Foxes Trust lobby on our behalf, the club has it's own motives, and will continue to pursue them.

Problem is though Lisa, if Fans Forums allow differing views to be aired, any forthcoming decision will by it's very nature alienate some supporters.

Not sure of the way forward but it seems to me that the club are a bit like a government with no opposition. They'll pay lip service to anybody who wants to speak but carry on and make the decision they were going to anyway. The only thing they've listened to is not changing the name to Fosse.

At the end of the day they run a business and it is they who are accountable, thereofre they make the decisions for their reasons.

We attempt to fairly reflect the fans views. The Foxes Trust board has always been made up of fans with diverse opinions which we discuss & decide the approach to be adopted. We have a mis of men & women on the board with an age range early 20's to 60+

The Fans Forum itself has changed over the last 2 seasons following our proposals. The original forum was made up of individuals giving their own opinion, it now has that but the main fans organisations represented as well to get over their members views (be it Supporters Club, Dis-Abled Assoc, FAR or ourselves).

You are correct that some members will not agree with each FT board's decision but that's the same for any organisation, be it a political party, a Union or a Company. We try to consult as much as possible utilising e-mail & the various message boards (as the quickest & least cost method), however we are always pleased to hear fans views directly via [email protected] - we wish more fans would offer their views to us
