macbeth Posted 9 June 2006 Posted 9 June 2006 I'm sure some our Rubgy team would be happy to eat a few football 'ooligans are they nutricious? its a pro. game now you know some of them look a bit lardy to me
Vardinhio Posted 9 June 2006 Posted 9 June 2006 Being a student in Nottingham, it's sometimes difficult being a city fan but I admit that I much prefer Nottingham to Leicester as a city. Leicester is too run down and despite it being annoying that the market square is being re-constructed, Nottingham as a city in general is quality and on the up. I don't think much to either of their footy grounds or clubs. As for the trams, they are quality. Yeh, they do pretty much run just from station street to Hucknall but they run like clockwork and are so useful for things like getting to Forest fields for a kick-around or getting quickly to the train station. As for crime..I have heard of a few bad things hapening but what city isn't dangerous these days. As for some of the subersbs of Nottingham..yeh, best to keep away perhaps.

Daggers Posted 9 June 2006 Author Posted 9 June 2006 You have to go all the way there to take your daughter ice f'in skating when the England match is on! Wankers! Aw maaaaaaaaaayte! Bloody children ~ I blame the schools for stoking up this misplaced enthusiasm in dumbass sports
Daggers Posted 9 June 2006 Author Posted 9 June 2006 sounds like you wouldn't condone throwing irritating fans to the lions or chariot racing in cecil b demille fashion then ...throwing fans into pits of custard, chariot racing with the chariots pulled by Shetland ponies - you have my vote I'm sure some our Rubgy team would be happy to eat a few football 'ooligans ...are they gay or do they just like to bring pleasure to 'hard' footy fans? As for the trams, they are quality. Yeh, they do pretty much run just from station street to Hucknall but they run like clockwork Hitler made the trains run like clockwork, and Mussolini, but at least they both had the sense not to send them to Hucknall.

Agreed, nothing ever happens in the City it's the suburbs. I love Nottingham and it's starting to actually feel like home, Leicester upsets me these days.
NFFC Chris Posted 11 June 2006 Posted 11 June 2006 Well there's no reason whatsoever to hate Nottingham, and here are my reasons. 1)Nice girls 2)Brilliant City Centre(great shops) 3)Home of the mighty NFFC 4)Hooters 5)Quality trams 6)The trent 7)City Ground and also Meadow Lane 8)Robin Hood 9)Cracking retail park 10)Great nights out And those are just a few reasons why Nottingham is a great city, much better than dull and boring Leicester! And Nottingham is only as dangerous as every other city in the country, and believe me the suburbs of Birmingham are a lot more dangerous than the suburbs of Nottingham.
Knighton Matt Posted 11 June 2006 Posted 11 June 2006 I got two exams there in the next two days And the world cup is on at the same bloody time ARGH!
Guest Posted 12 June 2006 Posted 12 June 2006 I got two exams there in the next two days And the world cup is on at the same bloody time ARGH! Good luck. And remember you need revision breaks, probably around 2pm, 5pm and 8pm.

Sounds a thrill a minute mate Im full of despondency because I have a Nottinghamshire postcode - I really HATE that! It's fecking Lincolnshire ffs!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 June 2006 Posted 12 June 2006 As a city centre, Nottingham is a hell of a lot nicer than Leicester.
Katy Posted 12 June 2006 Posted 12 June 2006 As a city centre, Nottingham is a hell of a lot nicer than Leicester. Leicester is in transition, every time I come back there's something been done to it. Leicester will be back to its best soon.
Guest Posted 12 June 2006 Posted 12 June 2006 Whilst Nottingham has a larger city centre, and benefits from more shops because of it, I find it too spaced out whereas Leicester seems 'cosy' and more friendly. However it's the people that bring a town down. Litter, chewing gum, spit and other anti-social behaviour that makes me dislike most places, to be fair.

Do you have a bloody great bull made of metal in your city centre? No you do not. The shops would surely be the same as ANY other in England ... aside from the extension to the Department of Homelessness and Urine Smells that is the shopping complex with the Argos in it. Pretty low-rent that one. Hooters encourages the depiction of women as objects, albeit objects that are attractive and have large breasts, but objects nonetheless. The Trent is home to idiots that have nothing better to do with their lives than jog. As this thread has already demonstrated, Robin Hood was an arse. So that leaves you with a retail park. Hmm, "Come and live in Nottingham - We have a great retail park!" Maybe it would scan better if you said "...and we're also very close to Mansfield!" Maybe not. Nope, reckon I'll stay in Brum.
