Daggers Posted 12 June 2006 Posted 12 June 2006 I'd like to see him come on towards the end I must admit
Jon the Hat Posted 13 June 2006 Posted 13 June 2006 I reckon if we are 2 or 3 nil up like we shuold be - if not more - then there is no harm in giving him 10-15 minutes to have a run out.

I dont see the point - we know what he can do - give him an extra week of training. We should be able to beat them with this squad

Infact, if hes to help us win the world cup, he'll need it and then 30 mins v sweeden, then 45 mins or more in round 2, to have enough to start a Q/F.
Nationwider Posted 13 June 2006 Posted 13 June 2006 As much as I'd like to see the big bugger back ASAP, I'd prefer him to build up his fitness in the gym and only be risked against Sweden if it's critical to us progressing in the group. We should win the group, at which point Tord and Sven can let him rip against Germany/Poland/Ecuador in R2.

Why discount Costa Rica There is no point in playing him in the group stage unless w really need him.

Daggers Posted 13 June 2006 Author Posted 13 June 2006 Unfortunately he hasn't been in the gym because they've all had two days off playing with their fun bags. I want to see a picture of Ferguson finding out Eriksson has played him in the group stages.
Tommeh Posted 13 June 2006 Posted 13 June 2006 i'd bring Rooney on for 10 minutes as a warning to other teams that we mean business at this world cup and hopefully he'll frighten them!

The Stig Posted 13 June 2006 Posted 13 June 2006 I agree with everyone who said that rooney shoull get more fit first however if we are 2 or 3 nil up there's no harm in giving him 10-20 mins
