lcfc true blue josh 18 Posted 14 June 2006 Posted 14 June 2006 as most of you know i am a brasil fan, and i have recieved alot of stick about it, and i have to admit that last night they werent at thier best, ronaldo looked like he couldnt be arsed to play, ronaldinho pulled off a few flicks but sometimes tried too much, they looked as though they backed off too much when croatia were running at them. never the less, it was a win and a good start

Besides, as someone pointed out in the Brazil - Croatia match thread, they often just have a relatively short spell of brilliance, and the rest of the time look quite ordinary.

As it was the space was ther for Kaka to net the winner and almost a second too. The impression I got was that Brazil were just warming up. Good example of how many times a mid-30's left back can get into the front third of the field though and how the World's best team always had width.

Wouldn't be talking about Ze Roberto and Emerson there would u.
Thracian Posted 14 June 2006 Posted 14 June 2006 Wouldn't be talking about Ze Roberto and Emerson there would u. I knew Ronaldo was on the pitch cos the commentators kept mentioning how much effort he was putting in but now you've mentioned those two...
shen Posted 14 June 2006 Posted 14 June 2006 I knew Ronaldo was on the pitch cos the commentators kept mentioning how much effort he was putting in but now you've mentioned those two... Ze Roberto actually had a decent game yesterday. He did much of Emersons work in the second half.
billabob Posted 14 June 2006 Posted 14 June 2006 i saw the highlights and to be honest, brazil looked VERY average
shen Posted 14 June 2006 Posted 14 June 2006 i saw the highlights and to be honest, brazil looked VERY average ... Yet they still looked like they had enough class to become champions again.
filbertway Posted 14 June 2006 Posted 14 June 2006 They looked weak at right back, if we play them I think joe and ashley cole will have a field day against cafu on the right. We just have to defend well and can nick 1 or 2 on the counter.
Benji Posted 14 June 2006 Posted 14 June 2006 I enjoyed watching brazil last night, because it proved Englands game against Paraguay was a decent result. No matter how many class players a team has, the better teams usually play the group stages purely to qualify, leave the winning in style for the big occassions against the bigger teams. Even Brazil were ''time-wasting'' in the form of holding onto the ball in the last 10 mionutes, yet people criticise England for going defensive.
