An easy one.

A man hurried down an unlit road carrying a torch. He tripped and the torch went out. no damage was done and he wasn't hurt but the incident was reported in newspapers around the world. Why?

Carrying the Olympic Torch?

Posted

The torch was the Olympic torch which the man was carrying to the opening of the olympics

Thanks. ;)

dunno i don't make the rules up  ask ken he started it :(

sorry if you feel cheated :( perhaps ken will give you some points but he's a bit of a stickler for tradition and not the sort to hand them out willy nilly ........you'd think he'd paid for them out of his own pocket the way he goes on ;)

i've just read another thread and it seems your sleeping on the couch so tell him that and he might go a bit easy on you

Lost count of the scores. Put it to the vote in a poll thread.

I would say the Monopoly one is better. In the proper way of doing these quizzes there would be Q and A. One of the questions asked could be 'Was the hotel on fire?' and the answer would be no the hotel was not damaged.'

Something along those lines anyway. The fire answer is too straightforward. You could also have she had just found out that the hotel was being demolished to make way for a new bypass and the insurance claims agent was the husband who had just divorced her after catching her shagging the bank manager..

As the question was not mine I cannot award full marks to Don or lestafox.

It's nice to make up rules as I go along. :D

How about a riddle?

Four men sat down to play.

They played all night till break of day.

They played for gold and not for fun.

With seperate scores for everyone.

When they came to square accounts

They had all made quite fair amounts.

Can you this paradox explain?

If no-one lost, how could all gain?

Assume there are 5,000,000,000 (5 billion) people on Earth. What is your estimate to be the result, if you multiply together the number of fingers on every person's left hands? (Thumb = a finger) A rough guess will do. Closest this time tomorrow wins.

Plenty of time to get the caculaters out. :D

now for a couple of hours of poker to earn my beer money. :D

I'm sure theres a trick here somewhere and its easier than it actualy is... so I'll say 0

ZERO!

jus cus if someone has 0 fingers, which I'm sure someone does, then anyhting multiplied by 0 must = 0.

Clever bugger. Exactly the reason. I was hoping this would last until tomorrow.

Problem

An elderly man gets up in the morning and shaves. He then puts on his glasses, and sees himself in the mirror. However, he sees himself with no glasses and a beard.

How come?

Theres a photo on the mirror where he isn't wearing glasses and has a beard?

there could be a different answer :S the geezer is not actually lookin at a mirrior.. but a newspaper .. the daily mirror. there is a picture in the paper of him from 20 years previous, when he did not where glasses ? it could be this.. but probabbly wont be. i'm probably goin off on a tangent :ermm:

this one is relativly simple. you just hagve to think outside the box.
