MADLEVEIN Posted 17 November 2004 Posted 17 November 2004 how come scowy has scored less goals now he's playing up front ? we look a better team than we did under adams and find it remarkable its the same bunch of players but he did get more goals perhaps im jumping the gun a bit, but surely he should be banging them in a bit more often now.
Ash Posted 17 November 2004 Posted 17 November 2004 I'm sure its just a matter of time , Connolly and Scowy are getting used to each other thats all !!
Scow Posted 17 November 2004 Posted 17 November 2004 He's only had three games upfront. He had about 15 games on the wing and scored 3. Not his fault the service has been pretty dire since he's been upfront. He's not really a goalscorer either, more of a link up player between midfield/attack ala Teddy Sherringham.
Mark Posted 17 November 2004 Posted 17 November 2004 Because James Scowcroft is not a good striker/winger/whatever
Ash Posted 17 November 2004 Posted 17 November 2004 Because James Scowcroft is not a good striker/winger/whatever 36757 Better than Dublin,Blake,Benjamin though

Ash Posted 17 November 2004 Posted 17 November 2004 at least wright scored the winner against the red scum 36764 But scored about 2 in divison two with Brentford last season , Class
jase67 Posted 17 November 2004 Posted 17 November 2004 He is not a goal scorer. I expect to see him dropped in the next few weeks and sold in January.
Babylon Posted 17 November 2004 Posted 17 November 2004 2 goals in division two, class? I hope that was being sarcastic

MON Posted 17 November 2004 Posted 17 November 2004 Blakes record for city. 10 appearances 1 goal Tommy wrights record 20 appearances 2 goals. Thats the same. Benji and Dublin also have a better record then wright. Wright is not Maradona or rooney. Neither is petrescu, petrescu.
Scarby Posted 17 November 2004 Posted 17 November 2004 Young James is the one banging those balls in the mixer!

Little Nicky Posted 18 November 2004 Posted 18 November 2004 I don't care what you guys say, his performances for a poor reserve side a couple of months back outshone any of the s&%! we've had playing up front recently, that's including Connolly and Scowy unfortunately(cuz i like Scowcroft). However I do think that CL will stick with the front 2 and put Wrighty on the bench for Wigan away, and may do the same with the midfeild duo putting Williams on the bench, Gillespie is out without a shadow of a doubt though! Aarran Butcher to gain a first team chance perhaps(at least as sub)? I hope so!

Failed to really hold the ball up and lacked that bit of strength to hold off defenders. However, it is fair to say he would do a better job than wasters such as Dublin and Blake. I can't understand this thing with Butcher - He seems a decent enough to me, but Dawson is simply a better player.

Mad Dog Posted 18 November 2004 Posted 18 November 2004 My mate at unis dad was manager at Brentford last season until about the last 10 games. He said tommy wright was absolute class, one of the best players he's worked with, but he was injured all the time so hardly played.
Anish Posted 19 November 2004 Posted 19 November 2004 Going back to the original point - Scowy ain't a natural goalscorer hence he hasn't scored since being moved up front. He is more of a link up player - holds the ball up, flicks it on etc. At least Scowy ain't missed the easy chances that Connolly has - if you're going to moan about Scowcroft not scoring then have a moan about Connolly too!
Tomassi Posted 19 November 2004 Posted 19 November 2004 its like me with fosse city.. i scored 2 in 3 games whilst on the left wing.. 5 in 10 games whilst up front.. (but thats only cus the other strikers a greedy so-so (joking wayne ))
