Fox in a Box Posted 31 July 2006 Posted 31 July 2006 The club are currently looking into ways in which they can commemorate Sep's life at the Walkers Stadium. I think calling the west stand.. the SEP SMITH Stand.. that would be fitting i think
Fox in a Box Posted 31 July 2006 Author Posted 31 July 2006 Minutes silence for Burnley match. they'll do that anyway silly... This man is a true LCFC Legend... on par with Lineker, shilts...Weller, Wortho Weller has a garden of rememberance..... A Plinth with a metal (bronze to expensive) face on...
The People's Hero Posted 31 July 2006 Posted 31 July 2006 A special commemmorative, special edition, once in a lifetime chance to own a new Fosse Purple City commemmorative Sep Smith kit? Cynicism over. A statue or something. We need some statues at the ground.

MONreborn Posted 31 July 2006 Posted 31 July 2006 A statue would be fitting and would also help give the Stadium some uniqueness at the same time.

Nationwider Posted 31 July 2006 Posted 31 July 2006 Not a minute's silence, please. Crystalising 20 years and 586 matches into a minute of standing around doing nothing is ridiculous. What is the point? He was a footballer, he didn't invent a cure for cancer. He hardly died before his time (aged 94!) and he hasn't kicked a ball for City for 57 years so its not as if many have actually seen him play. A moment's applause to celebrate his achievements after the Post Horn Gallop would be more fitting. A minute's silence = 20 million phones going off = sh*t.

Nationwider Posted 31 July 2006 Posted 31 July 2006 You're not for the statue either then? Statues are good. Just not a minute's coughing, texting and nose-picking.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 31 July 2006 Posted 31 July 2006 Statues are good. Just not a minute's coughing, texting and nose-picking. I guess it would help if the tannoy bloke didn't actually introduce it as that.
davieG Posted 31 July 2006 Posted 31 July 2006 Rather than a statue they should produce face sculpture of all the legends and fix them in a 'legends area' to the external wall of the stand, somewhat like the bricks. Starting with Sep Smith & Keith Weller, they could organise a legends collection once year.

Collymore Posted 31 July 2006 Posted 31 July 2006 How about a charity match in his name with the proceeds going to a charity maybe chosen by his family?
Fleckney Fox Posted 31 July 2006 Posted 31 July 2006 they should honour this great man with 3 points and a limited edition shirt with smith on the backs of all of the squad for the burnley game..........
