macbeth Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 i had a great time in the Dominican republic, lots of chanting and wine..............or it may have been a Dominican monastry
Guest Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 Ohh err Lisa, where bouts did you go? We flew into Puerta Plata, can't remember the resort name....We stayed AI, the hotel was in bay, the hotel chain had three hotels in this bay, you could use the facilities in all three, and the beach was private, so no looky-looky men. You then went round the headland and they had the watersports. We'd take a kayak out, and you could explore the mangroves and all that, and see jellyfish. And the stars are so much clearer and closer looking than here!!

Teeno Posted 15 August 2006 Posted 15 August 2006 Hey Shum you'll love Egypt, it was one of the best hollidays I've been to. A few reccomendations... Make sure you go to Namma bay, and try hard rock cafe and pacha. I wouldn't reccomend the day trip to Cairo to see the pyramids, allthough it was amazing to see the day started at 4am and we didn't get back till 10pm. It's a long day and the local spoil it a bit because your not unable to enjoy the experience without them hasseling you. Deffinatly go snorkelling, it's amazing we were gonna take diving course's but you can see just as much snorkelling. Go on a boat trip, they have full days and half day trips. We did the half day, they took us out to an island, was perfect time to relax and you get to snorkle far out and there's also plenty of dolphins. Oh and most of the fast food places deliver. We ordered 3 big mac meals and it cost 70 egyptian pound (£7) including delivery. Oh and take hand wipes with you. Allways carry small change with you aswell the locals get really funny with you if you dont tip them.

Make sure you get an early night the night before when going Cairo, because being so tierd runined it for us. Be careful who you book it with aswell, there are some dodgy people about the best bet is to do everything through your hotel. Enjoy mate!
