Manwell Pablo Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 Tough on West Ham Palermo are a good side, and that group has the potential to be a right mare. Spurs look the most comfortable.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 August 2006 Author Posted 25 August 2006 Agreed. Imagine; Rapid Bucharest Osasuna FC Basel West Ham Feyenoord Ugh. And that's if they get past Palermo.
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 Agreed. Imagine; Rapid Bucharest Osasuna FC Basel West Ham Feyenoord Ugh. And that's if they get past Palermo. Plus side is you only need to finish 3rd I suppouse.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 August 2006 Author Posted 25 August 2006 Plus side is you only need to finish 3rd I suppouse. Was it Rapid Bucharest who knocked Everton out the CL in the qualifiers last year?
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 Was it Rapid Bucharest who knocked Everton out the CL in the qualifiers last year? Villareal. EDIT: You may be thinking of the UEFA cup.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 August 2006 Author Posted 25 August 2006 Villareal. EDIT: You may be thinking of the UEFA cup. Indeed I am.
Head Honcho Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 Just got a good deal for 2 nights in Bordeaux for the Liverpool game £100 each flights and hotel just need 6 tickets now
Head Honcho Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 Also two more possible "Battles of Britain" Didn't Rangers play Newcastle in Europe a couple of seasons back? or am I just imagining it
Bert Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 Rangers played Man Utd in the champions league a few years back and got beat both games. Thats what i remember of Rangers' European excursions.
shen Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 Very tough draw for the Danish clubs. Odense up against Hertha Berling (game over), Randers against Fenerbahce (looking at a trouncing here) and Brøndby against Eintracht Frankfurt (60-40 in the Germans favour). Group 3, 6 and 7 all look like potential death groups.
shen Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 why can't i see Leicester City in there? Seems a lifetime ago that we played Atletico...
Master Fox Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 Seems a lifetime ago that we played Atletico... Or Red Star down at filbo with their flares and all. Darren Eddie nearly scoring to put us through...
shen Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 Or Red Star down at filbo with their flares and all. Darren Eddie nearly scoring to put us through... Thinking about it, it was a bit shite that we never got past the first round
Ultra Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 Didn't Rangers play Newcastle in Europe a couple of seasons back? or am I just imagining it They played them in the sixties. People up north still recall the game at St James' Park. Apparently Rangers fans were picking police dogs up and throwing them back at plod! Can't remember any more recent games, unless they were friendlies..
Master Fox Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 Thinking about it, it was a bit shite that we never got past the first round Tough draw we had though
shen Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 Tough draw we had though True, but we had a good chance against Red Star. Ah well, we did ever so well to get into Europe in the first place. Looks like we will have to wait a long time before we get there again
bigneville Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 Or Red Star down at filbo with their flares and all. Darren Eddie nearly scoring to put us through... Darren Eddie?????? Eadie maybe?
