To see if they want their account. It would give a more accurate feeling to how many people use this sight? If they dont log in within a certain amount of time of the email. Deleting members because the don't post is just a waste of time all around. The admins could easily locate a mod for the forum softwar that shows how many users have been on the site in the past 24 hours - that's as good as your information needs to be... who's been on the site today? But again, there's no real reason to go around deleting people just because they don't post. You can find software scripts that tell you how many users are using the site each day, and you're not saving any real resources by not maintaining a large user list.
