Deleting members?

Recommended Posts

Would it not be worth sending people an email who have not been active for a certain amount of time. Like 6 months. To see if they want their account.

It would give a more accurate feeling to how many people use this sight?

If they dont log in within a certain amount of time of the email.

There account is deleted??

No point.

You gain no real extra information about who/how many people are using the site.

Deleting members because the don't post is just a waste of time all around.

The admins could easily locate a mod for the forum softwar that shows how many users have been on the site in the past 24 hours - that's as good as your information needs to be... who's been on the site today?

You could do it by week if that really floats your boat

I understand that but surely you can tell when someone last logged in?

You can - just look at their profile!

But again, there's no real reason to go around deleting people just because they don't post.

You can find software scripts that tell you how many users are using the site each day, and you're not saving any real resources by not maintaining a large user list. So I really don't see any reason for going around demanding people post or lose their account.
