Benji Posted 1 December 2004 Posted 1 December 2004 would expect be some decent bets for watford though......worth a couple of quid?
Wellman Posted 1 December 2004 Posted 1 December 2004 Come on Watford, Come on Chelsea, do it for the southern boys!!!!
Guest Daniel Posted 1 December 2004 Posted 1 December 2004 Come On Liverpool & Man Utd. Then a repeat of the other year in the final. 2-0
Scow Posted 1 December 2004 Posted 1 December 2004 Chelsea have taken the competition seriously by fielding strong line ups, which makes a nice change.
shen Posted 1 December 2004 Posted 1 December 2004 Chelsea have taken the competition seriously by fielding strong line ups, which makes a nice change. 42176 well it's hardly possible for Chelsea to field a weak line-up with their huge squad! Scott Parker doesn't even make the bench
Ash Posted 1 December 2004 Posted 1 December 2004 Don't forget theve got players out on loan aswell Cole,Crespo,Veron
shen Posted 1 December 2004 Posted 1 December 2004 Don't forget theve got players out on loan aswell Cole,Crespo,Veron 42219 Indeed it's a firghtening thought! Although it makes for a change to see another club other than Real Madrid that can field a stellar line-up, it's ludicrous to see so such huge strength in depth! I wonder if Parker even makes the reserves' bench!!
Cobbo Posted 1 December 2004 Posted 1 December 2004 Surely Ferguson will stick his first team out for this one? Might be the only cup they get a chance to win, plus, playing his youngsters vs Chelsea would surely see them get a mullering? If Liverpool play a weakened team again, I can see Watford turning them over. But once again, surely the first teamers will come in as it could be the only trophy they get a chance of winning?

All first team regulars.
Ricey Posted 2 December 2004 Posted 2 December 2004 I was very disapointed with Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd last night because they would of struggled to field a weaker realistic side. Great to see Chelsea taking the cup seriously, for that reason I want them to win it and I think they will.

Leicester_Mad Posted 2 December 2004 Posted 2 December 2004 werent you one of those asking adams to field a youth side against preston
Cobbo Posted 2 December 2004 Posted 2 December 2004 werent you one of those asking adams to field a youth side against preston 42457 Early rounds. Bit different to the quarter finals, if we had beaten Preston we would have had to get past Everton, Arsenal reserves, Man Yoo....So realistically not much of a chance and 2 days after a league match it was a chance to play a few kids, not a team full but a select few such as Wright, Dawson and Stearman.
Anish Posted 3 December 2004 Posted 3 December 2004 I don't think it would be fair for ManU or Liverpool to start playing the big boys again in the semi-finals. It is the youngsters or reserve players that have got them this far so they should be given the chance to play in a high profile game like the semi-finals - and who knows, the final itself. It would be a massive kick in the teeth for the ManU or Liverpool players if they weren't going to play in the semis when it was them that got the clubs to the semis.

Who's gonna feel proper ****ed then? Fair play if the young team can win, but that's unlikely. It's mind games, but I agree that the young ones deserve the chance. Sadly, we all know, teams aren't always picked on merit

Nathan_Ellington_WAFC Posted 4 December 2004 Posted 4 December 2004 man utd wont play the ''big boys'' in the semi final
Scow Posted 4 December 2004 Posted 4 December 2004 I would imagine they'll be a mix in the line up - good to mould some of the promising youngsters with first team regulars.
