lookwhaticando Posted 11 October 2006 Posted 11 October 2006 Obviously I've ommitted 4-4-2, it's not a formation you can assissinate. If you assassinate the 4-4-2, what else do you play? So which formation will the national team attempt to kill off next? Should they make sure the 3-5-2 is totally cold before they move onto the next one? Answers below, please!
Ultra Posted 11 October 2006 Posted 11 October 2006 As the next game is away in Israel, expect the brain-dead buFfoons McClaren and Tel to play for another 0-0 draw. And once again, to fail miserably!

Maybes Posted 11 October 2006 Posted 11 October 2006 Says it all! Mclaren = Fake Sven with slighlty more passion.

Benji Posted 12 October 2006 Posted 12 October 2006 You can have the best formation in the world but if you can't get the players to play well together, or at the bare minimum perform well individually it's going to be the same sh1t everytime.

Hit the nail firmly on the head. Just like Sven before, Mclaren is struggling with both his tactics and his motivational skills. Whether it's because he isn't a good/experienced enough manager is yet to be seen, but maybe it has more to do with the fact that quite a few of our national team are way too complacent and feel assured of their places whether they perform well or not. There is a aura surrounding so many of our players that they are becoming victims of their own hype and ego, and are not going out and playing with pride, passion or comittment - the way a player should perform when representing their country. This is what Macedonia did to us, and the same with Croatia yesterday. A good kick up the arse, dropping a few players and putting the next generation on the pitch (especially for a game we should comfortably win against Israel) should wake a few players up - I mean listen to the quotes coming from Beckham just lately
Foxello Posted 12 October 2006 Posted 12 October 2006 T'is the way forward i tell thy Midfield would be a bit crowded me thinks...
Daggers Posted 12 October 2006 Posted 12 October 2006 I think it is time we went back and had a look at the WM formation that proved so successful for the Hungarians long ago... ...it won't ****ing work, but at least it'll give everyone a damn good laugh.

Well it would if both teams playing adopted it. Certainly stands more chance than both teams playing 4-5-1.

The People's Hero Posted 13 October 2006 Posted 13 October 2006 In my opinion me need MORE good, quick width. Not less. That above formation is too narrow. Also, under McLaren playing SWP and Cole effectively as wingbacks would lead to them spending their WHOLE time defending as he's so cautious.
