MBK Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 Why aint he playing....Did he make a big fuss for not going to Sunderland and was disciplined? Anyone knows the rumors...Because despite the defence has coped this year it is too lacking in more than one way and attention towards alternatives...Maybury as RB is a good way of getting the LB crap out of the way as well(kenton d free to play there)
Wils Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 Hes not good enough to be playing IMO. Kenton and Stearman are both better players than him at RB
MBK Posted 16 October 2006 Author Posted 16 October 2006 Hes not good enough to be playing IMO. Kenton and Stearman are both better players than him at RB then why didnt the board sell him...they are not so dumb as not to listen to what the coach would say
Thracian Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 then why didnt the board sell him...they are not so dumb as not to listen to what the coach would say Maybe he wasn't sold because any run of injuries was going to decimate our squad and considered alongside the few 50p's they were being offered for him, they reckoned he was worth more to us remaining on the books. The problem of course is that they've nowhere to keep the lad properly match-fit. So how much use he'll be if drafted into the side remains to be seen.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 It's an odd situation particularly given that he was RK's golden boy on the right side of midfield last season and the beginning of this one. And it's not like Low and Hughes have been awesome in the meantime. Having said that, Kenton and Maybury would be the least attacking right side any team could ever put out in the history, present and future of football. Maybury's exclusion is partly down to Stearman's poor form as well.
Milky Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 maybury and sylla had a fight, punches were thrown. Since this has happened neither have had a look in.
lildave3 Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 I wouldn't play him anwyay. Right Back: Kenton and Stearman are better. Left back: Nils, Sheehan and i'd go as far as Mattock are better. He played awful v Macclesfield and their the worst team in the Football League. Should have gone.

lookwhaticando Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 The sale of Maybury collapsed because the board said yes - but just a little too late for Blunderland's liking. Shame really - there's nowhere for him. Losing him would have brought in a bit of cash and saved some wages - we could have pocketed the savings and used it for hypothetical injury crisis, or perhaps to find a suitable addition to the squad at a later date (January, if needs be). Oh well.
Joe. Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 Who cares if he's not playing? He's crap anyway <_<
Thracian Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 Why should he be playing...? They'll be having a fit defender count first thing tomorrow - and two fingers might do!.

Thracian Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 Wasn't it 250 k ? If it was that much we should have swallowed it like a slot machine!
lookwhaticando Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 Wasn't it 250 k ? Allegedly. Not a huge amount, but considering we only paid about 50k (I think?) that would not have been a bad piece of business.
cisono Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 Who cares if he's not playing? He's crap anyway <_< Not according to Kelly!!! When you have got the type of squad that we have got then it is important that people can play in different areas for us. Alan Maybury is a good example of that - he can play wide for us and also in both full back positions. The versatility of the squad gives us options. source: http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~912849,00.html
lookwhaticando Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 Not according to Kelly!!! source: http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~912849,00.html Sounds like Maybes is being lined up for a return at LB, assuming Kenton and Nissa are both injured.
cisono Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 Sounds like Maybes is being lined up for a return at LB, assuming Kenton and Nissa are both injured. Hmm they are not definitely out though, are they?
AyewJoking Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 He was only worth getting rid of if we could get some serious money for him. The fact he hasnt been getting in the team hasnt bothered me because I think he isnt as good as other players weve got in defence and he certainly cant play right wing. But players get injured and you need backup so its a good thing we didnt sell him.
lookwhaticando Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 Hmm they are not definitely out though, are they? As Thracian points out, we're heading for an early morning 'defender count' tomorrow - that's when we will know how many defenders we managed to damage on Saturday. I'm almost hoping Nissa's injured. I'm not thrilled by Maybury at LB (if Kenton unfit) but it's worth a (re)try.

I've might have seen blue alligators and long-necked geese...and I've certainly seen Maybury at left-back so I know which looks the most out of place!!!

Surely it was the alligators. Do you think we're better off with Nissa at LB then, rather than Maybury? They're almost complementary players - if you could somehow combine them into one player, you'd have a decent LB. Nissa's a sound defender, and he's got a left foot. Maybury knows his way up the pitch. Maybury can pass, sometimes, rather than just hoof as Nissa prefers to do. McCarthy is definitely out. RK "can't see him being involved". Step forward the Kisnorbo/McAuley partnership!
