Brummie-FOX Posted 25 October 2006 Posted 25 October 2006 Im not that thick but what are the 3 key ingredients needed to make a big club?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 October 2006 Posted 25 October 2006 Surely you just need a large piece of wood?

Tommeh Posted 25 October 2006 Posted 25 October 2006 1) Big fan base 2) Good history i.e won plenty of trophies 3) Big stadium to house all those fans We have all of them tbh but I don't think many teams can be classed as big outside the premiership with the exception of Sheff Wed and Scummy Leeds
Bert Posted 25 October 2006 Posted 25 October 2006 Barcelona. Real Madrid. Ac Milan. Juventus. Man Utd. Liverpool. Bayern Munich. All what i see as big clubs.
lildave3 Posted 25 October 2006 Posted 25 October 2006 Barcelona. Real Madrid. Ac Milan. Juventus. Man Utd. Liverpool. Bayern Munich. All what i see as big clubs. Not Chelsea? Ajax? Lyon?
dandannieldanok Posted 25 October 2006 Posted 25 October 2006 1) Big fan base 2) Good history i.e won plenty of trophies 3) Big stadium to house all those fans We have all of them tbh but I don't think many teams can be classed as big outside the premiership with the exception of Sheff Wed and Scummy Leeds I agree with the first two and my third would be: 3) to be an established premiership club
Bert Posted 25 October 2006 Posted 25 October 2006 Not Chelsea? Ajax? Lyon? Oh yes they are all big clubs, but if i was asked to name so many those clubs i have mentioned are the ones.
vanfox12 Posted 26 October 2006 Posted 26 October 2006 No Notts. Forest either?? <_< No even when they were winning things they weren't exactly getting big crowds week in, week out. Big clubs get crowds of 40,000 plus. You might as well describe clubs like ours as a medium sized club with the potential to be a big club.
breadandcheese Posted 26 October 2006 Posted 26 October 2006 We have all of them tbh but I don't think many teams can be classed as big outside the premiership with the exception of Sheff Wed and Scummy Leeds That's the crossover from big club to sleeping giant. I would class us as a sleeping giant or snooozing behemoth.
Libertine Posted 26 October 2006 Posted 26 October 2006 That's the crossover from big club to sleeping giant. I would class us as a sleeping giant or snooozing behemoth. I prefer snoozing behemoth definately. Gives us more individuality.
Head Honcho Posted 26 October 2006 Posted 26 October 2006 Not Chelsea? Ajax? Lyon? Relatively speaking Ajax and Lyon are big clubs in their own country but not in Europe. Chelsea still have a lot to prove, but they're getting there.
Guest Gist Posted 26 October 2006 Posted 26 October 2006 I'd say a big club is a club that has been succesful in the top flight of their country for a long period with a big fan base with a biggish stadium.
Joe. Posted 26 October 2006 Posted 26 October 2006 1) Successful now, not necessarily in the past. I don't think I can class Forest as a big club anymore 2) Big fanbase 3) Big Stadium
MC Prussian Posted 26 October 2006 Posted 26 October 2006 This is simple arithmetic: Big Club=Big Mac Big Mac= - Two Beef Patties (= one or two local boys, or a very-well admired captain with juice) - Special Sauce (= team spirit) - Lettuce (= a colorful chairman) - Cheese (= one or two star-players) - Pickles (=a pitch feared by opponents) - Onions (=super goalkeeper) - Sesame Seed Bun (= dried-out fans) = Big Club Sidenote: I don't like pickles.

So you support a small club, then?
