lookwhaticando Posted 27 October 2006 Posted 27 October 2006 Romanov issues warning to playersHearts majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov has warned his players they are all for sale if they do not win this weekend, BBC Scotland has disclosed. And captain Steven Pressley responded with a statement voicing the players' unhappiness at affairs at the club. Romanov says he will move players on to "Kilmarnock or whatever club will take them" unless they defeat Dunfermline. And he has warned that he would then play a team of youngsters against Celtic the following weekend. [...] Romanov warns players The guy's insane. He's doing more ridiculous things by the week. He sacks managers for fun. He slags the referees off. Then he slags the media off. Now he's threatening to sell players if they fail, as a team, to win against Dunfermline. Bet the Hearts fans are loving every minute of this. On another note, why does the team of youngsters thing never happen to us?
Leonisco Posted 27 October 2006 Posted 27 October 2006 "Kilmarnock or whatever club will take them". Don't know why but that made me giggle.
Bert Posted 27 October 2006 Posted 27 October 2006 A bit of power and he's the world's most powerful man. IS he George Dubya in disguise?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 October 2006 Posted 27 October 2006 Brilliant!! This sort of madcap tomfoolery is exactly what I would demand of Milan Mandaric.
lcfc_jme Posted 27 October 2006 Posted 27 October 2006 This guys a nutter!! It's no wonder the Hearts lads are unhappy, they don't even know where their futures currently lie!!!! What a character - bit of a mad hatter, but a great character none the less  Still though, if he was in charge of City and made those sorts of threats, Thracian would be silently pleased, as the younger lads would all then get a chance (don't get offended by me please Grandpa T, I understand why you post such things, really I do!!)
Daggers Posted 27 October 2006 Posted 27 October 2006 He's like a half-brained, cash-rich foreign Barry Fry.
lildave3 Posted 28 October 2006 Posted 28 October 2006 This guy really annoys me, can't imagine what the Hearts fans think of him
Mark Posted 28 October 2006 Posted 28 October 2006 Hearts majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov has warned his players they are all for sale if they do not win this weekend, BBC Scotland has disclosed. Hearts 1-1 Dunfermline
lookwhaticando Posted 28 October 2006 Author Posted 28 October 2006 Hearts 1-1 Dunfermline :appl: They trying to call his bluff? Or they trying to prove a point - that they're not fazed by him? Or do you think they want out?
lcfc_jme Posted 28 October 2006 Posted 28 October 2006 :appl: They trying to call his bluff? Or they trying to prove a point - that they're not fazed by him? Or do you think they want out? If you read into the players' statement released by the skipper, then I would say that a few of the lads may well want out. Apparently the morale in the dressing room is terrible and the players aren't at all happy with things at the club. And the owner is absolutely, 100% crackers. It'll be interesting to see whether he sticks by what he said or whether he backs down.

lcfc_jme Posted 29 October 2006 Posted 29 October 2006 hes probably the sort of person to stick to it he will end up destroying that club Possibly. But he hasn't come out and confirmed everyone is for sale, and so far I understand him to have made no comment on the issue. Maybe he's scared to go through with it and so is running away from the whole thing by not commenting
Ultra Posted 29 October 2006 Posted 29 October 2006 hes probably the sort of person to stick to it he will end up destroying that club And yet some believe that this is the type of figure that should be running OUR club.....
lookwhaticando Posted 29 October 2006 Author Posted 29 October 2006 And yet some believe that this is the type of figure that should be running OUR club..... Mandaric may be foreign but he's not proven himself to be a complete control freak intent on running the whole show himself. Are there weekly reports of Mandaric meddling in first team affairs such as team selection? If so, I'll retract.
