lcfc_jme Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 Kelly has to walk. It's the only option. We don't want somebody to have to try and replicate what he did for us last season. It won't work this time. Sadly Kelly needs to step aside and let somebody who knows what they are doing save us before it's too late.
Leicfox Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 Classic, im still listening on Match console and its still live with barber chatting to his m8's Barber said he was cheesed off with rob's 1st comment.

To be quite honest, if we'd have stuck with Levein we wouldn't be in this division anymore. It'll end up the same way if Rob doesn't go.

Joe. Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 He has a job to fall back upon when he finally gets lost Can't be worse at that job than he is at his current one.

It'll end up the same way if Rob doesn't go. That's what I was getting at. I'm thankful to Kelly for saving us last season, and I expressed my desire to give him time this season so he could prove his credentials and do something useful. However after 20 games it hasn't materialised, and he is now acting so much like Craig Levein I'm feeling like I'm looking at last seasons table. Rob - you need to go. Please. For the good of our club.
jumbo mills Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 rk is a good assisant manager. the club ought to demote him to assisant rather than sack him
lildave3 Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 rk is a good assisant manager. the club ought to demote him to assisant rather than sack him Managers usually like to bring in their own staff though...
lcfc_jme Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 rk is a good assisant manager. the club ought to demote him to assisant rather than sack him Very good assistant manager. Did well in helping Craig Levein put us in the play-offs didn't he?? Yeah I believe that was Rob Kelly.. Great bloke
Maybes Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 If we lose this saturday I feel that kelly out chants will start. I really cant decide over kelly at the moment. Weve just got a shit team with no money. So how can he be expected to improve it?

For the good of our club. I really don't think Rob would ever consider resigning, even in the worst of times. It's his first ever managerial job and he wouldn't want to look bad leaving when things were tough. He's also eagerly waiting for Milan's millions. It was in the papers that he is desperate for some cash.
Muz Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 Good coach bad manager. Not got a clue tactically. Like Craig says he seems a nice bloke but at the end of the day we need to protect the future and welfare of the club which means getting rid. When/If Milan comes in I reckon he'll have a few games and if Milan is'nt impressed he'll be shown the door.
thanks4nothinglevein Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 I agree if we lose saturday then the 'Kelly Out' chants will echo especially from L Block!

It was in the papers that he is desperate for some cash. So he can do what exactly? Spend it on more Low/Johnson type players? By new defenders? Purchase the Gimp's Guide To Defending and have Josh Low reading it out to everyone in training? I honestly don't think giving Milan's money to Rob Kelly would be a sound business move. It could turn out to be professional suicide on the part of our club
davieG Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 This what I posted in the when will Kelly go poll and I've not changed my mind: I'm all for loyalty but what Kelly did last season is water under the bridge, if we were now bottom and points adrift would people still be saying loyalty counts - I think not. What will be crucial in the short term is where we are when MM actually takes over, at the moment we are 18th and 6 points off the relegation places. With games against Derby, Norwich & Wolves away and home games against Sheff Weds, Barnsley and Cardiff to play before that happens, 5 of those teams are currenly above us and probably have resonable expectations of taking points off of us. I can't see us moving up but I can see us moving down. Kelly to me is in the same boat that CL was in; he needs a fit Weso in the team pronto, If he can get him fit and playing in 5 of those six games then it could save his neck, if not I can see us in the bottom 3 or there abouts by Christmas and that aint going to impress MM.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 Kelly is still a few games away from getting the tap on the shoulder. If he finds himself with Levein's results come January you can be certain of it, which is troubling for him given our draw in December. There was nothing wrong with his lineup today given the circumstances. The attitude and attacking style of the team as a whole needs to change. If we play like we did today against Sheff Wed on Saturday I will be fooking pissed.
Milky Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 The players keep going on about how much they like Rob Kelly, well now is the time to stand up and fight for the man. If the players really want to keep kelly in a job, they still have a chance to show some fight.

Iasked last week and not one person could give me anything.
Mort Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 WTF????? What evidence is there please? Iasked last week and not one person could give me anything. I think people want to say that coz they want somthing nice to say about RK, and for lack of anything else to say we (as i think i may be guilty here) throw out... "oh... but he's a good coach" there's no evidence for it, in the past it seems like the players get on with him, but that simply suggest that he's a "nice guy" and as you say suggests nothing about his coaching ability. And to be honest the teams recent performances makes me think that our, already non-existent, "spirit" is at an even lower ebb and a good coach would not have allowed that to happen.

Terrific post, and I wish more had your front to admit it. There is no way the players are playing for him either.
ibbosuk Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 I Dont think its a case of what we think, with such a string of poor result's, I think its now inevitable that Kelly will get the Bullet, as his results are starting to look ominously similar to Craig Levein's. Alan Curbishly in the January Sales ? Anybody agree ?
