DB11 Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 We need a tactically aware manager... or maybe even do what McClaren has done and get an advisor, say Bobby Robson, who can just advise Kelly where he is going wrong. Have a word in his ear and say something like "I think you're doing this wrong - try this..." Not to take his job, just to advise Kelly and make him a better manager in the long run.

Why should he get an advisor? He's f'ckn rubbish and he should be sacked now, CL was in similar circumstances.

This is as bad as the idea about consulting Beaglehole on attacking tactics. He's not up to it. That's the bottom line. The day you have to resort to consulting other people about how to do your job, you've lost any semblence of control over your position.
ithuriel Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 look , if we start using tactics now it will confuse the players
gatesheadfox Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 robson? i think he has a slightly better job at the moment hasnt he?
DB11 Posted 2 December 2006 Author Posted 2 December 2006 I don't know I just said him as an example because he has experience. All rookie managers need tips.. Stop being so hard on Kelly

If an advisor knew what we were doing wrong we should make him manager, not leave some clueless prat in charge!
Daggers Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 Here's the only advice Kelly needs...don't slam the door on your way out.
dandannieldanok Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 Here's the only advice Kelly needs...don't slam the door on your way out. What about driving directions to find his way home, his defensive attitude will kick in behind the wheel and he won't be able to force his way through the traffic onto the inner ring. He will be stuck here for good if that happens.
DB11 Posted 2 December 2006 Author Posted 2 December 2006 Would you be happy for RK to take a coaching role when he gets sacked?

Are you saying therefore that Beaglehole knows nothing about tactics?
Joe. Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 Stop being so hard on Kelly Stop being so hard on Kelly? A lot of it is his fault that we're in this shocking league position and playing poor football. His team selections baffle me and everyone else and his signings have been terrible.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 Are you saying therefore that Beaglehole knows nothing about tactics? Nope. But it's a lot easier to conduct attacking tactics with a superior group of players. It's not like we would be top of the league having scored bags of goals if we just played in a more attacking fashion. We haven't got the players with the quality to do it. In the same way that the Academy would still be round about the top of their league if they played more cautiously, just that the scorelines would be 1-0, not 5-4. Because they are far superior players to the opposition they're facing. This is a pointless argument that I wasn't even pursuing anyway, because it's clear we disagree on this.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 *puts on tin hat and ducks for cover* Oh no, is he going to start talking about the war?

We just don't have the quality. End of.
BartonFox Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 Oh no, is he going to start talking about the war? We might soon get War and Peace from ol' Thracian about Beaglehole and tactics.

Manwell Pablo Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 We might soon get War and Peace from ol' Thracian about Beaglehole and tactics. We'll probabley get Crime and Punishment about Max Gradel, Louis Dodds and Andy King's fantastic footballing abilty thrown in for free.
