The process is to remove the nerve from within the tooth down to the jaw; therby never feeling pain again in that tooth. I can honestly say that only once did I experience serious pain afterwards but make sure that your dentist gives you prescription for some strong pain killers just in case. Also don't have it done on a Friday since if something isn't right you can go back the next day. Good Luck
