Just heard about this too.................Federico Crescentini (13th April 1982 - 15th December 2006) was an international defender for San Marino, for whom he made 8 appearances for during his career. He died while on holiday in Acapulco, Mexico when he tried to help a friend in trouble, but despite rescuing her, he also drowned.

This has been in the Italian news for a couple of days already.

I still wonder how they could've possibly drowned in a lake?

Non-swimmers?

That'd be a sad story in these oh-so-modern days.

The icey cool water could have something to do with it RIP

The thing is tradgedies happen like this everyminute, we only hear about it when they're in the public eye.

I spoke to someone I knew yesterday who died of a heart attack an hour later, a lad in his 30s, here one minute & fine -gone the next. it can be a cruel world sometimes

True.

Although I'm not doing all too good at the moment (job-wise speaking), knowing about similar tragedies gives you some sort of existential grip.

I mean, we have an elderly couple as neighbours and they lost their only grandkid a few years back in a car accident. He was only 20 at the time.
