He drowned on the 15th December 2006 along with team mate Alessio Ferramosca. It was reported that they both drowned in a four-metre deep artificial lake at the club's training ground whilst attempting to retrieve a football. RIP lads
Ajax Treesdown Posted 21 December 2006 Author Posted 21 December 2006 Just heard about this too.................Federico Crescentini (13th April 1982 - 15th December 2006) was an international defender for San Marino, for whom he made 8 appearances for during his career. He died while on holiday in Acapulco, Mexico when he tried to help a friend in trouble, but despite rescuing her, he also drowned. RIP San Marino
MC Prussian Posted 21 December 2006 Posted 21 December 2006 This has been in the Italian news for a couple of days already. I still wonder how they could've possibly drowned in a lake? Non-swimmers? That'd be a sad story in these oh-so-modern days.

I spoke to someone I knew yesterday who died of a heart attack an hour later, a lad in his 30s, here one minute & fine -gone the next. it can be a cruel world sometimes

Although I'm not doing all too good at the moment (job-wise speaking), knowing about similar tragedies gives you some sort of existential grip. I mean, we have an elderly couple as neighbours and they lost their only grandkid a few years back in a car accident. He was only 20 at the time.
