Rincewind Posted 23 January 2007 Posted 23 January 2007 I'm off. Bit bored so off to the Ale Wagon for their Comedy Club night £6 entry. Don't forget the Leicester comedy Festival starts the first week in Febuary. Venues all over the county (not sure if the Walkers stadium is one or not) If anyone wants to know whos appearing and when there is a website with all the details. I can keep this thread updated or you can look yourselves. It's up to you.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 January 2007 Posted 23 January 2007 I'm seeing Russell Brand at De Monfort Hall. Saw him in Northampton in November, was ace. Don't listen to the doubters. Saw Jimmy Carr at the 200...3? Comedy Festival. Worreva was the one just before he made it big. That were good.
Flynny Posted 23 January 2007 Posted 23 January 2007 I'm seeing Russell Brand at De Monfort Hall. Damn you, I wanted to go to that but no-one'd come with me. You can pass for 18, right?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 January 2007 Posted 23 January 2007 Damn you, I wanted to go to that but no-one'd come with me. You can pass for 18, right? Bah, I took my brother to see him and he's 15. They've got to expect a few young 'uns there what with him being off the telleh and that.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 January 2007 Posted 23 January 2007 What venue? I'd imagine it's dependent on where it's held on how lenient they are with people. The Deco in Northampton. Most of the staff are about 7 so it's not really an issue.

Flynny Posted 23 January 2007 Posted 23 January 2007 what are the fringe events like? there's 1 at the willow in thurmaston and i'm thinking of going. Me dad drinks there sometimes. I take it its some unknown and no-one even vaguely of repute?
Daggers Posted 23 January 2007 Posted 23 January 2007 I'm seeing Russell Brand at De Monfort Hall. I'd rather see Jo Brand. In fact, I'd rather sleep with Jo Brand too...and have a red hot poker brand my arse while wearing shit brand fashion. But have a nice time anyway - I'm sure he will be very funny. Well, amusing. OK...he won't be amusing but at least it beats hanging around a bus shelter drinking cider. **** it. Get a bottle of cider and go down the bus shelter.

Daggers Posted 23 January 2007 Posted 23 January 2007 Miserable git. I know she is - but I'd still rather see her talk about periods than listen to that lank haired twat go on about his testicles and scrotum.

Daggers Posted 23 January 2007 Posted 23 January 2007 Oh but Dave he's much more than that. Yea...I think I see your point ...eh? Hang on a minute... His 'air is impressive, majestic, like what the princes of old aspired to. You swine! Nah - I was right all along. You just summed up the entire act in one sentence
Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 January 2007 Posted 23 January 2007 Yea...I think I see your point ...eh? Hang on a minute... Nah - I was right all along. You just summed up the entire act in one sentence That were two sentences. The swine bit is integral to the act. And I didn't even mention the bin-throwing or the bit where he phoned Northamptonshire Police and named Johnny Cash as the man behind the arson attacks on various farms in the area. It were reit good. But I think we'll have to agree to disagree. I think you're just jealous of the hair tbh.
Libertine Posted 23 January 2007 Posted 23 January 2007 My point is that he is more than catchphrases about his genetalia.
Daggers Posted 23 January 2007 Posted 23 January 2007 It was all different in my day when entertainers had nice haircuts, songs had words and everybody showed respect for old people before they went to war.

Rincewind Posted 24 January 2007 Author Posted 24 January 2007 Got some free time so might go to one or two. Only thing is I don't have the money to go with the free time. If I dont get extra shifts who find other work I will soon be up shit creek. Got a months wages Friday to come which includes xmas and new year double time then if this week is an indication next month it'll be a fortnight pay in a month. Still, it could be worse.
