Charlton Athletic vs. West Ham United

Recommended Posts

Some Swiss dudes on another football forum site would like to see the Charlton - West Ham game in late February.

As the average attendance is around 26'000, I suppose it won't be a sell-out (they consider it a derby which I believe it isn't).

Also, what are the average ticket prices and what's the atmosphere like? Are the fans friendly?

I know it's a bit weird to ask this on here, but I thought some of you might know more about it.

Any help is appreciated!

charlton played at upton park for a few years iirc. i don't think they're too far apart. could be derbyish.

West Ham United (h) - Saturday, February 24th (3pm)

Tickets are now on sale to season-ticket holders, Valley Gold members and Red Card Platinum members for the first return of former Addicks manager Alan Curbishley to The Valley.

Places for the vital relegation battle are £35 adults, £25 over 60s and U21s, and £15 U18s.

A maximum of two tickets per membership number is permitted.

Any remaining tickets would be released to all members of the free Red Card scheme from 8am on Monday, January 29th providing they have a previous booking history from the current campaign.

Supporters can book £5 return coach travel from more than 60 pick-up points across the South East for the West Ham fixture via the Valley Express service here.

Good job we've got no chance of being in the premier any day soon because I refuse to pay those sort of prices to see a couple of crappy performing teams in a relegation battle, which is where we will be unless we find a decent manager to go with any money we might conceivably hope to get from the MM deal if it should go through.

And I don't believe there's going to be a lot of people attending the game. Maybe a few Curbs fans. The Valley's not a great stadium at all, atmosphere-wise.

But hey - if they can dish out 35 quid for a relegation battle game, they should do it.

I just think there are better places to go to - and for less money.

Yes, Walkers Stadium vs. Cardiff, boring 0-0 draw, and all that for £5 :P
