syston_fox Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 Anyone still up watching this? I don't really follow much of american football but will watch the highlights when they're on and will always watch the Superbowl! Such a great occasion in the sporting world. Come on the bears!

I'm up. I'll follow it. I've got beers. COME ON THE COLTS!!!
Geo V Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 I prefer the UFC and that was on Bravo tonight from 9pm but I have switched over to see Janet Jacksons nipple or hopefully Beyonce`s arse this year. Its a big old show but alright but its way too OTT. The American soldiers in Eyeraq being cheered was a bit cringey for me.
lcfc_jme Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 7-6 Bears. Extra point was fooked up by some bad handling in the rain. Great work from Manning to set the TD up though.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 What times it start I may be tempted by the first quarter or two seeing as I had a ridicolous amount of sleep last night/this morning/ this afternoon.
lcfc_jme Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 What times it start I may be tempted by the first quarter or two seeing as I had a ridicolous amount of sleep last night/this morning/ this afternoon. It's currently on ITV or Sky Sports 1. The Bears lead by 14-6. 1st quarter, Colts in possession.
Lord Nibblington Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 It's already way better than last year.
lildave3 Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 I don't like American football, i don't have a clue what's going on. But for some reason, i love the superbowl and am watching it. I chose the bears for no reason whatsoever. Come on you Bears

Geo V Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 Get a grip you plank. The Colts is where it's at (for the Superbowl at least!!). COME ON YOU COLTS!!! 16-14 up These fudgers cant catch the ball and need to get a grip. they wear gloves and still cant catch it. Maybe they should wear baseball gloves? I must admit I know fudge all about American sports but this is the first year in 4 that I havent ventured into the heart of London to watch the Superbowl in one of the many loaded sports bars. Its a good night out and hearing the Americans go "woooooo" and "waydago" in a high pitch voice is hilarious.
lcfc_jme Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 Glory supporter No. As I outlined before, I'm rooting for the Colts in this one so I can say that the Patriots were beaten by the eventual winners of the Superbowl. It'll make me feel better about the whole thing. Purely selfish reasons my friend.
lildave3 Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 Time for the most entertaining bit of the whole Superbowl, the half-time show
Geo V Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 Time for the most entertaining bit of the whole Superbowl, the half-time show . PMSL at the state of Prince. He looks like Hilda Ogden.
Stuliasz Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 I have attempted on numerous occasions to watch this so called sport but for me its incredibly dull. It stops every 5 seconds with an ad break every other stop. I don't think there's been a period of play that's lasted longer than 10 seconds. What a load of balls.

It stops every 5 seconds with an ad break every other stop. I don't think there's been a period of play that's lasted longer than 10 seconds. What a load of balls. It really is boring. But for some reason, i'm up watching it/listening to it in the background. And by the way, i wasn't actually joking about the half time show
Geo V Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 $2.7m for every 30 sec advert I think the stats said. Also, apparently 1/7th of the world are meant to be watching this shower.
lcfc_jme Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 I don't care what you lot are saying about it. I'm enjoying it. 16-14 to the Colts in the third quarter. Gooooooooooo Coltssssssss!!!!
lildave3 Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 I don't care what you lot are saying about it. I'm enjoying it. 16-14 to the Colts in the third quarter. Gooooooooooo Coltssssssss!!!! Tell me, is this the equivalent of the FA Cup final?
Geo V Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 If all goes well this should be finished soon, maybe by about 5am
lcfc_jme Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 Tell me, is this the equivalent of the FA Cup final? I'd much rather watch an FA Cup final , I am an active sort of person and football is a lot more active than the NFL. However, there's just something about the NFL that makes me enjoy watching it no matter how many stoppages there are or how slow the games go. That is especially true for the Superbowl. 'Nuff said. Respect. Safe.
C-man Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 Dungy deserved the win, what with losing his son earlier in the season
The People's Hero Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 Good. Especially as I backed them for it ages ago at 16s!
davieG Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 Me and my lad watched it, he's a big Colts fan. Well there was some really awful football on display out there, on possession, yardage and first downs the Colts should have won by 50 points. Way to go the Colts 36 years of hurt.
