Italian Football

This might not be right, or sound right, but I think it's about time Italian clubs were chucked out of European competitions, or going even further.. chuck all Italian football out of the window.

The Italian match-fixing scandal was bad enough, but the hooliganism seen the other night is enough.

Just imagine if this had happened in England?

Italian football is a JOKE.

Don't be stupid.

Why not say where im being stupid instead of just telling me like it's a fact?

That requires effort and it's clear your being stupid, theres a thousand reasons why what your saying is stupid.

But I'll give you one in the form of a Maths equation.

Fat Boy Frank earns 120,000 pounds week. Working out at around 6,240,000 a year.

The British Governmant takes 40% of everything over 30,000 P/A.

Express as a round number, the amount of lost tax that would result in our governmant losing in one tax year if Fat Frank was no longer allowed to do his job.

Remember thats just one player.

I understand why you are annoyed mate as we have had to see all our cclubs banned from playing in Europe whilst whatever the majority of Europeans do they get slaps on the wrist.

I also agree that if some of the stuff that has gone on happened to an English team or manager the fines and bans would be much longer. Its all about politics unfortunately and countries like Italy have been getting away with match-fixing, bungs, racism and out-right violence for years without nothing being done.

I wouldnt sling them out but I would do something so extreme that they would really shake up there way of thinking towarsd football and that they will be held accountable for there actions.

Yeah, well maybe I might be overreacting but

Manwell, as much as i'd love to do your question.. no. So you can go ahead and say i'm thick for not answering etc. etc. Look at the top line in my first post again.. especially the first eight words.

And the first line on this post

lol Do you not have a calculator on your phone, I didn't want you to answer it exactly I just wanted you to appreciate that closing down the Italian football league would cause massive Social and Economic problems in that country and it's running away from a problem can be solved if UEFA and the Italian FA work together.

I'd like to point out that Feyenoord have been kicked out of the UEFA cup and when has an English team ever been kicked out of a European tournament and not Thoroughly deserved it.

isnt it 40,000 P/A? sorry to be pedantic

My time to be pedantic :P

You are taxed on anything earned over £33,000 P/A.

Just to clear it up, however, like Manwell say's it doesn't make too much difference.

People want football, people play football.

Football is marketable, capitalism gets on board.

Capitalism is on board, football will be played, consumed, eaten, drunk and slept.

Italian football isn't a joke, a minority are ruining it for everyone. Not every agent and manager in this country is bent just because we had a bungs scandal, are they?

The football situation's different to the one in England. Hooliganism is not just simply caused by local rivalries or poor "David" against rich "Goliath", there's also a huge difference in income between North and South (a longtime part of the "Italianità").

Plus, politics play a HUGE part in it. There's numerous clashes between old school communists and neo-fascists.

i'm not saying they should be chucked out of european competitions but this is a ridiculous reason for not chucking them

when football hooliganism in english football got so bad ,no reasons of financial loss would have been used to keep us from being kicked out ,

he's got a good point they should consider it

I'm well aware of their problems Alex, however if you think poltics or social/economical problems played no part hooliganism we used to see in this country then you don't know what your talking about. If you look at it thre are several big similarties between the two problems.

It's not a reason for not chucking them out of Europe, it's a reason for not ending Italian football full stop. Just one of hundreds of reasons.

Why kick them out of Europe? most of the hooliganism is taking place in Italian Serie A matches and therefore falls under the Italian FA's mandate not UEFA's, the match fixing again was a internal thing it was Serie A matches being fixed not European ones so again it's down to the Italian FA to hand out the punishments which they did. It was their decsision to kick AC out of The CL and It was also their decision to allow them back in. There has been no serious violence concerning Italian teams in Europe for a good long while if you exclude the Inter/AC incident and that was again two Italian teams meeting, and if you want Italian teams kicked out for that incident alone then you'll have to kick out the Dutch, Greeks, Lithuanians and Bulgarians who have all been involved in much worse incidents.

Removing them from Europe wont stop the violence, prevent any violence, or address the problem so what’s the point?

Just force them to play all their games in Malta

Just force them to play all their games in Malta

I believe the only Italian team currently allowed to use their own Stadium in Europe is Roma at the moment anyway.

Posted

I thought there were six :dunno::dunno::rolleyes:

Well considering 7 Italian teams get put into Europe Palermo are out and San Siro has been has been deemed unfit to play in along with a host of other Italian grounds, howd do you work that one out?

The Interior Ministry said in a statement that the stadiums that could open were the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Palermo's Stadio Renzo Barbera, Siena's Stadio Artemio Franchi, Sampdoria's Stadio Luigi Ferraris (also shared by Genoa), Cagliari's Stadio San Elia and the recently refurbished Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino in Turin.

At every other venue games must be played behind closed doors until security is improved.

"Many stadiums need weeks perhaps even months

I just heard the words

Italian

Grounds

And the number

6

I didn't listen to anything else, but yet I don't care. I'm not a fan of Italian football and you would know how I feel about the recent happenings ^^
