Stuliasz Posted 18 January 2005 Posted 18 January 2005 With the debate raging about whether it is about time that our most established first teamer should stay or go, I thought I should dish out a few facts for you all to discuss over. He is our 16th best performer in the squad this season averaging 5.92. He has played the most minutes out of anyone in the squad by far this season. His best performance was at home to Sheffield United where he averaged 7.71. His worst performance was at home to Rotherham United where he averaged 3.47. His monthly averages have been as follows: - August: 6.45 - September: 6.84 - October: 6.09 - November: 6.54 - December: 4.47 - January (so far): 4.37 His last seven performances haven't resulted in a score higher than 4.95. His previous 23 performances didn't result in a score lower than 4.95. His turning point was at home to Reading where he averaged 4.31.
Mark Posted 18 January 2005 Posted 18 January 2005 I don't need stats to make my mind up He should have gone in the Summer, but Micky thought it was best to reject the offer. ####
Mark Posted 18 January 2005 Posted 18 January 2005 HE IS A WASTE OF TIME............CRAP! 56229[/snapback] Nice signature
Guest Posted 19 January 2005 Posted 19 January 2005 The stats are interesting, because I don't think Scarcrow's performances have gone downhill particularly; he's always been crap.
davieG Posted 19 January 2005 Posted 19 January 2005 Just to get a bit of balance Scowie doing his bit Don't know if it went anywere useful
Collymore Posted 19 January 2005 Posted 19 January 2005 All it needs is for him to have a few desent games and you guys will be licking the brown stuff again <_<

I've disliked this player since his U-21 days while at Ipswich. Horrible player to have in the team, and to think i pay to watch him
FNQ Posted 21 January 2005 Posted 21 January 2005 Peoples ratings are shite and are from the heart not the head. We do not have 15 better players than Scowcroft ffs! In fact he is one of our best players.

Some people have said for a while that they don't like Scowy but he has served us well. His last few performances have been below par but people have short memories IMO.
Mark Posted 21 January 2005 Posted 21 January 2005 Short memories? I've never EVER liked him as a footballer. When he's at his best, he is average at best. And that isn't very often. It's only now that people are realising.

I repeat....."Some people have said for a while that they don't like Scowy" You know as well as I do that many people on this board moan at things because their peers do. Many people also moan because they believe vehemently in certain things. I happen to think you're in the second group but people aren't just realising he's crap. Some are looking for a new scapegoat because we haven't improved and some think because he's gonna leave anyway they might as well call for his head and look as though they're suddenly experts. Read my post fully before writing back in capitals.

He's been utter shite for the past 7 games or so, or in Petrescus view hes been shite forever...
Mark Posted 21 January 2005 Posted 21 January 2005 Well he has Luke he has the odd game where he does some good things but that's so far back in the past now. We're doing poor in the league so people are looking more for underperformers and he's becoming more noticable. It's not because people are looking for a scapegoat, everyone see's whats happening out there, you got to speak your mind on the matter. What is he actually good at? Everyone mentions his heading ability but i dont see it. He scored some decent headed goals 3-4 seasons ago, but who was the provider? Magic Muzzy Izzet, with his perfect crosses.
filbertway Posted 21 January 2005 Posted 21 January 2005 For the first time i agree with petrescue, scowcroft has been very poor and he offers the team nothing, and if clubs are willing to actually take him of our hands i will be glad of it. People say he has a good heading ability, when does he show it
Scow Posted 21 January 2005 Posted 21 January 2005 I think he started the season off well, and was perhaps one of our better players. He was playing Ok on the right without making an huge impact. He's set up a few goals this season from out wide, and contributed 3 from that position. When he first moved upfront under Levein, he was average. However, over the past 6 or 7 games, he's been nothing short of poor. He looks to have other things on his mind. His first touch and passing have been well below standard - attributes he usually relies on, along with his heading. Even his heading is on the wane, he barely wins anything substantial in the air now...
