drinking 'age' in turkey

me mother and her friend just surprised me and me mate with a all inclusive holiday to turkey on the 30th of march like, anyway, as i aint to been turkey before i was wondering what the unofficial drinking age is, like in cyprus the law states 17/18 but they'll serve anybody who looks older than about 6. same for spain. what are they like in turkey?

just for reference i'll be 17 when i get there.

21 and over.. also very strict.

Should change your thread title, it's slightly misleading. ;) (Now it's been fixed :whistle:)

And Babylon is right about the strictness - with it being a predominantly Muslim culture, they're obviously not so keen on the whole booze thing. Especially if you're not old enough to begin with. ;)

Technically, the drinking age is 18 years but identity cards are rarely checked.

i went turkey with my mate when i was 16.

spend all day everyday sailing and in the bar. you'll have no problems in the hotel. couldnt say about anywhere else but since your all inclusive u've no need to worry

You want to make sure you're not booked into the hotel on a child booking :cry:

They'll only give out wristbands to the adults!

Also warn your mum and her friend to wear steel knickers as the locals have a habit of going upto English lasses and groping them a sthe police wont turn on their own.
