Daggers Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 You must have a keen one eye... Tch! Why oh why is it that someone always has to lower the tone of a thread? I hope you feel ashamed of yourself Swiss! Now, this thread will probably be deleted, or worse...
Geo V Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 I was sitting in a park one day next to the missus as she was trying brushinh up on the sun tan when some little dog made a beeline for my ankle and started to attempt to shag it. After my initial shock of a few seconds and the hysterics of the girlfriend I managed to kick it off and heard the apologies of its owner who said she didnt know what was wrong with "Naomi". If it was named after Naoimi Campbell that would answer a few questions. What it be wrong to say I enjoyed it a little bit?

cisono Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 I think people over-react on issues like these. My best mate started fooling around with his sister and one thing led to another and they started seeing each-other. He has no trouble with his mother-in-law as its his mum and Christmas is great fun too. The kids turned out beautiful as well which proves that genetically there will be no problems for this type of reproducing relationship. Nah it doesn't actually prove anything, as LWICD (our resident stats expert) will be happy to tell you as well. I don't think there is a problem with incest as such, but inbreeding is different. See definitions below: Incest refers to socially taboo sexual activity between individuals who are considered to be too closely related to enter into marriage. In other words, it is a social and cultural term. Inbreeding, on the other hand, refers to procreation between individuals with varying degrees of genetic closeness only, regardless of their relative social positions. It is a scientific term rather than a social or cultural term. The odd case of inbreeding will not harm the gene pool. But laws have been in place to prevent this happening systematically, which WOULD harm the gene pool and leads to an increase in homozygosity. Inbred offsprings have a much higher chance of death before reaching the age of reproduction, leading to what biologists call inbreeding depression, a measurable decrease in fitness due to inbreeding among populations with deleterious recessives... Incidentally, when I was living in Italy, I remember hearing that Catholics need a dispensation from the Pope to be allowed to marry a cousin (don't think there is one to marry a sibling!).
Daggers Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 ...and let's not forget...it has been legal to marry your pet since a regal decree in 1572, in Bavaria:
