Geo V Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 Heard McLaren on the radio saying what we need is a "backs aginast the wall performance" and to "really grind one out." As if the use of meaningless cliches wasn't enough, it also sets completely the wrong tone. We are playing Israel for fook sake. What we need to do is play as a football team, that means passing and moving not rolling the ball to the full back who lumps it to rooney because he has no other options. If We play as wen can we should be far too good for Israel, but you can guarentee we'll put loads of men behind the ball, so no ambition and resort to aimless long balls. Why? We have a muppet of a manager. I saw the Croatia win in Israel when Sky had it live and Israel were shite but Croatia were positive. We need to play with confidence but maybe the Liverpool, Chelski, Arsenal and Man Utd players dont get on these days. I know some of the scousers hate some of the Mancs, especially Gary Neville but maybe there is a devide? Time to start a rumour BTW PMSL at McClaren. Ive seen a few interviews he has given in the last few days and he has starte dto grit his teeth and talk of passion and the bulldog spirit FFS!! Im telling you, this bloke will put us back 20 years. Next thing on his agenda is play a Winston Churchill speech pre-kick off and ask Terry Butcher to come in with a hammer so he can start hitting people around the head, so that the physio can patch them up .
Guest Gist Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 Charlton defender Luke Young has been drafted into the England squad for the Euro 2008 qualifiers with Israel and Andorra. Young was omitted from Steve McClaren's original 23-man squad last week, but he has been called up to provide cover in defence. The former Tottenham man will help fill the void of Gary Neville's absence after he was forced out of the squad with an ankle injury. McClaren is also sweating over the fitness of Manchester City defender Micah Richards after he picked up a calf injury against Middlesbrough last weekend. Young is the third player to be called into the squad after Gareth Barry and David Nugent were given late calls into the fold. From SSN.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 Walid Badir... that name rings a bell, didn't he used to play for Wimbledon? Just checked it out on Wikipedia and yes he did. Made 21 appearances and scored one goal, at Old Trafford!
lookwhaticando Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 lol The withdrawals continue! Woodgate has dropped out of the England squad with a knee problem (Woodgate injured? You can't be serious!) At this rate, we might as well just send the U21s instead... at least most of them are fit.

lookwhaticando Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Seems like good planning to have these games at this time of the season! Internationals are a joke anyway... I guess that's why they stick them in the middle of the run-in... a little comic relief if you will.
Manwell Pablo Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Woodgate ruled out for Saturday. Fecking ell we've got player dropping dead left right and centre and it's only Thursday <_<

Simi Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 Nah, bet he plays Downing. What a stupid decision that would be from McLaren. Lennon should play there I think.
