No Jenas, it's a start. However P Neville & He'll still do something stupid like play Gerrard out on the right.

No surprises there then. Which is a shame because Phil Neville is in the squad again . Please can someone justify his inclusion? EDIT: And don't even think about mentioning words like "utility" and "versatile".
Geo V Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 I thought Cole was suspended for the next game?? Anyway, no surprises to the squad but I think he`ll find a way of fooking things up tactically.

Geo V Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 McClaren will pick.... ROBINSON G NEVILLE - FERDINAND - TERRY - CARRAGHERGERRARD - LAMPARD - HARGREAVES - LENNONROONEY - JOHNSON
Flexx Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 Didn't realise Cole was suspended, why is he in the squad then? Probably replace him with Carragher - Phil Neville is absolutely shocking IMO
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 He'll play Neville left back, he'll play Downing left wing, he'll play Gerrard right wing, he needs sacking.
Flexx Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 He'll play Neville left back, he'll play Downing left wing, he'll play Gerrard right wing, he needs sacking. And replaced with.. There's no other decent English alternatives really.
Geo V Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 And replaced with.. There's no other decent English alternatives really. Wenger!
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 And replaced with.. There's no other decent English alternatives really. Sam Alladyce would be much better.
Simi Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 Id be pissed off if i was Gareth Barry Where is he. . Surely he would be a better option at left back.
The People's Hero Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 Id be pissed off if i was Gareth Barry He needs a move to a fashionable side.
Flexx Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 Barry looked poor when he came on in the last match. That friendly was obviously like a trial for Dyer, Barry and Woodgate. Woodgate and dyer impressed but Barry unfortunately didn't.

Woodgate and dyer impressed but Barry unfortunately didn't. McClaren has an unfortunate ability to try and balls up a player's chance to impress. Andy Johnson's appearances for England - down the right wing Darren Bent - Pretty much same as above Gareth Barry - Bringing him on the last game in an unfavoured position Joey Barton - Playing in an already overpacked midfield with two forwards who were both looking to drop deep into midfield themselves. The potential saving grace is that with Crouch injured, McClaren cannot play him upfront with Rooney in one of the poorest England attacks in history.
potter3 Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 And replaced with.. There's no other decent English alternatives really. And? Why does it really matter what nationality the manager is??
Leonisco Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 Phil Neville! What the fook is he doing? How is he any better at left back than Gareth Barry or Leighton Baines? I've pretty much refrained from criticising McClaren so far, but he's starting to piss me off. Oh well, at least there's no Jenas or Richardson.
lookwhaticando Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 No Jenas, it's a start. However P Neville & He'll still do something stupid like play Gerrard out on the right. Desperate, isn't it? Sam Alladyce would be much better. ------------------ This bit, from the BBC Sport article about it really ****s me off. McClaren's main dilemma will be at left-back, where he will choose between Jamie Carragher and Phil Neville. So he's left himself so short of options, it's a toss-up between the shittiest player in the squad, and a centre-back out of position! Magical! That's a mistake of Levein/Kelly proportions - and McClaren is supposedly managing at the top level and he's making the same mistakes! Obviously the FA made a mistake when they overlooked the bespectacled jock for the top job.
lookwhaticando Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 I see Johnson's in the squad.... I bet he gets wasted on one of the fooking flanks at some point too. The poor bastard has been abused by two managers now. This squad is wank. Sure we've trimmed a few hopeless fringe players like Richardson and Jenas... but that's nothing compared to the idiotic mistakes he'll no doubt make with his first 11. I thought we'd qualify for Eu08 and then just be shit once we got there... now I'm doubting whether we'll qualify at all.

If we get there, Michael Owen would be back for Euro 2008 and players like Nugent would have another year and a bit to show improvement. Other young players showing potential like Micah Richards, Giles Barnes and the countless other youngsters we have may well have kicked on sufficiently to be in the England squad. The problem is we may not get there!
Webbo Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 McClaren will pick.... ROBINSON G NEVILLE - FERDINAND - TERRY - CARRAGHERGERRARD - LAMPARD - HARGREAVES - LENNONROONEY - JOHNSON i think you're right except i don't think terry will be fit so woodgate to replace him.
JoeyB Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 Thought Nugent could of got a call up but as i understand he's backup(1st Call up) P.Neville shouldnt be in the team tho'
