davieG Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 i think you're right except i don't think terry will be fit so woodgate to replace him. He played for Chelsea against Man City the other night so I don't see why not.
Brainy Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 I'm glad Nugent didn't get called up. Over-rated in my opinion. He's a good player don't get me wrong, but the whole England call-up suggestions made me laugh.
Webbo Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 He played for Chelsea against Man City the other night so I don't see why not. Oops
Flexx Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 And? Why does it really matter what nationality the manager is?? One word Sven
Guest seanfox778 Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 how long is beckham injured for? i thought he'd be back for these games or did he just not get picked.
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 One word Sven Come back when Steve Mclarens got us to three major Quarter finals, then you can say that.
dandannieldanok Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 Come back when Steve Mclarens got us to three major Quarter finals, then you can say that. I think with the players we have had in all of those competitions it isn't a huge achievement at all. I'm sure anybody, never mind McLaren, will be able to lead us to the quarters of the next 3 majors.

dandannieldanok Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 I'm saving that quote. I will end up with egg on my face when you bring that up after we have failed to qualify, I can picture it now
Milky Posted 16 March 2007 Author Posted 16 March 2007 I'm saving that quote. England will win Euro 2008
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 I will end up with egg on my face when you bring that up after we have failed to qualify, I can picture it now I really don't know if we'll qualify with Croatia having the upper hand on us already as well as Guss Hidinks Russia looking quite strong and I'm not confident about our trip Isreal either. However forgetting all that, even if we do qualify, if we finish second in our group we could end up with two big teams like France and Holland in our group, and maybe a team like Denmark (if we don't get seeded) Group stages in European Championships are no pic-nic as we have found out many times before. Sven's the only manager that has gotten us out of the group stages on forigen soil I believe. As I said when he went he's not a brilliant manager but he's better than McLaren, in fact McLaren isn't even in his league.
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 I blame Massimo Maccarone. The man talks sense
Mikey Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 McClaren will pick.... ROBINSON G NEVILLE - FERDINAND - TERRY - CARRAGHERGERRARD - LAMPARD - HARGREAVES - LENNONROONEY - JOHNSON Yeh almost definitely. But TBH GERRARD IS A CENTRAL PLAYER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But try telling that to Steve Mcaren
Mark Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 One left footer in the squad and he drops Barry  We'll be lucky to get a point against Israel.
breadandcheese Posted 17 March 2007 Posted 17 March 2007 Just to throw this into the mix. When Everton, who have had problems with injuries, need someone to fill in at left-back, do they turn to Phil Neville? Do they ****. They put Lescot in there. It seems Moyes, who works with Neville day in day out doesn't trust Neville in that position, yet McClaren thinks he do it at international level. Leaving Barry out was a massive mistake. We could conceivably have a left flank without one left footed player at all. Carragher/Neville with Lennon in front of them. It was a mistake to appoint McClaren. We all said it then and he has done nothing to change that. His treatment of players is appalling.
Geo V Posted 17 March 2007 Posted 17 March 2007 And? Why does it really matter what nationality the manager is?? The BNP dont want another forwigner in charge ! Sven is looking better by the day now isnt he??! Previous managers like Graham Taylor failed to guide England to major footy tourneys and Sven managed to overturn our home loss to Germany under Keegan to get us through although not without a last minute panic. McClaren is making a pigs ear of it now.
Flexx Posted 17 March 2007 Posted 17 March 2007 Gary Neville and Micah Richards injured Phil Neville at left back and Carragher at right back then
Geo V Posted 17 March 2007 Posted 17 March 2007 Gary Neville and Micah Richards injured Phil Neville at left back and Carragher at right back then Time to dust of my Greece shirt and hope they make it because Engerland wont be if those two are playing fullback!
lookwhaticando Posted 18 March 2007 Posted 18 March 2007 What a disaster our back four is shaping up to be! It's going to be static. The CBs will have to do more pushing forward to support the attacks than the fullbacks at this rate! England fans everywhere are bricking it... I can tell. Sixth sense.

Leonisco Posted 18 March 2007 Posted 18 March 2007 wheres crouch? Oh yeah, I've just noticed that. He's not played much for Liverpool recently, so that's probably why.

lookwhaticando Posted 18 March 2007 Posted 18 March 2007 At the moment it's looking like. Richards----------Terry---------Rio---------P Nevillie Richards is suffering from a recurring calf muscle injury. Carragher is likely to start in the RB slot. As good a defender as Carragher is... he's no RB. Mind you... Neville is no LB... so that's one wank defence.
