Subs: Butcher, O'Grady, Muggleton, Wykes, Lycett. Charlton: Andersen, Fuller, Gross, Perry, Fish, McCafferty, Stuart, Sam, Lisbie, Varney, Euell. Subs: Ricketts, Randolph, Long, Phillips, Ashton
Mark Posted 24 January 2005 Posted 24 January 2005 Not bad, Gemmill may hold them back though. That Charlton team is very strong, Perry, Fish, Euell and Lisbie
Ric Flair Posted 24 January 2005 Posted 24 January 2005 Even though Makin and Gemmill are crap, their experience might help the youngsters put a more accomplished performance in. I think it's better to have a few older one's in there aswell, it gives the youngsters a better chance to shine really. I'd like to know what Levein thinks to Porter, as Levi has started about 4 or 5 reserve games on the bounce now and he was never given a look in under Adams for the reserves. He's impressed me when i've seen him, I watched him earlier in the season in the academy and we lost 1-0 but he was amazing. Stearman up against Euell would be good to see.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 24 January 2005 Posted 24 January 2005 That Charlton team is very strong, Perry, Fish, Euell and Lisbie Not to mention Graham Stuart who's still got a bit left in him. I'm really starting to pay attention to this Sheehan. He's scored a few for the academy and he was one of only three youth players that were kept behind to train over the Christmas period with the first team. I've only seen him in the flesh about two or three times and although he didn't really stand out, he did a job.
Steven Posted 24 January 2005 Author Posted 24 January 2005 From the Charlton site - Charlton win 2 - 0 <_<

Just he gets frustrated sometimes and some of his tackles can be, lets say u wud stand up and take note but i think he deserves a go.

Mark Posted 24 January 2005 Posted 24 January 2005 I'm totally shocked by this........ Morris is injured again!!!! 58548[/snapback] Not one for suprises is he Why not play De Vries? He's short of match fitness, i'd have given him 45 minutes at least. Levein must be satisfied with Scarecrow <_<
Anish Posted 24 January 2005 Posted 24 January 2005 Morris injured again, bloody hell. The guy will never play more than 10 league games for us before his contract runs out, the way he is going. And the amount of money he is making for doing nothing is a waste of our limited resources

davieG Posted 24 January 2005 Posted 24 January 2005 Stearman - Man of the Match according to the coaches. Reserves Fall To Addicks The City second string put in their best performance to date under the stewardship of Kenny Black and Peter Houston away to Charlton on Monday night - but still came out on the wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline. Leicester were always going to be up against it at the Valley as they were facing an Addicks side containing a number of Premiership regulars. But despite the obvious gulf in class the Foxes put in a brave display and were desperately unlucky not to get anything out of the game on the night. Charlton rocked City when they took the lead from the penalty spot with just three minutes on the clock. But Leicester soon got into their stride and dominated the game for long periods after their early setback. The Foxes had a number of chances to equalise - but found the Addicks 'keeper in inspired form. Kevin Lisbie was sent off for the home side on the hour mark, and Leicester defender Alan Sheehan soon followed when he picked up his second booking of the evening. City were camped out in the host's half as the game came to a close - allowing Charlton to break away and grab a second at the death. And Leicester were also knocked by injuries during the contest to boot - Tommy Wright (groin), Levi Porter (cut eye) and Lee Morris (knee) all having to be replaced. Speaking after the game, coach Peter Houston said: "We hate to lose games but we really are delighted with the way that we played tonight. "The lads dominated the game for long periods but some rather dubious refereeing decisions certainly didn't help their cause. "We fell behind early on from the softest penalty you have ever seen, but from 15 minutes onwards we totally dominated the game. "Charlton had the likes of Jason Euell, Kevin Lisbie, Graham Stuart, Mark Fish and Chris Perry in their line up so we were always going to be up against it. "But that didn't phase our younger lads at all and they more than matched their opponents on the night. "We pummelled the Charlton goal for long periods and their 'keeper has made four of five excellent saves to keep us out. "We lost three players through injury during the game, so we certainly had to chop and change things a bit. "But we kept plugging away and both Kenny and myself are happy with the performance. "Scot Gemmill, Peter Canero and Chris Makin can take great credit from the game and they helped our younger players no end on the pitch. "But Richard Stearman was my man of the match - he had a terrific game." City: Logan , Makin, Franklin, Dawson, Stearman, Sheehan, Canero, Gemmill, Wright (O'Grady 48), Morris (Muggleton 65), Porter (Butcher 12). Subs not used: Wykes, Lycett. Charlton: Andersen, Fuller, Gross, Stuart (Long 60), Perry (Ricketts 71), Fish, Lisbie, McCafferty, Varney, Euell, Sam. Subs not used: Randolph, Phillips, Ashton.
