MBK Posted 24 March 2007 Posted 24 March 2007 We need to finish in style! Andy Johnson believes Leicester City can build the platform for a promotion challenge next season by finishing this campaign on a high note. The 32-year-old midfielder has plenty of experience of what it takes to get a team into the top flight. Johnson helped West Bromwich Albion win two promotions into the Premiership and said: "I'm a great believer that how you finish a season helps to determine the sort of start you can make to the next one. "We certainly know what to expect in these last eight games - you are either playing against teams fighting to get promoted or into the play-offs, and then there are the opponents who are facing a relegation battle. "We want to finish the season on a high with a good run of results and see how far we can go." Johnson is at a loss to explain the inconsistency which has blighted City's season. He said: "Perhaps it's something to do with the gaffer (Robert Kelly) being nominated for manager of the month! He didn't win it, sometimes it's like a dreaded curse. "But seriously, I can't put my finger on the reasons. It's just the way football is, one minute you are flying high and the next minute you are not. "Nothing's been different, the squad's been the same, and the performances have been reasonably consistent (shit) , if not the results. Some of the defeats have been down to human error and it's hard to legislate for that at times." Johnson has missed the last two games with a stiff neck, but is back in contention for next weekend's return to Championship action at Stoke City. "My neck is all right now, it was a freak accident in training that caused it," he said. "I was shielding the ball when James Wesolowski up-ended me (people still say the kid will save our season) and, as I came down, I ricked my neck. "If there had been a game today, I would have been fine." Johnson says the QPR defeat is now consigned to the past, with the spotlight firmly focused on the final eight games. "Going to Stoke is a tough return for us, but we have beaten them already this season. "They'll be coming into the game strongly and fancying their chances. We will have to be on our toes."
dandannieldanok Posted 24 March 2007 Posted 24 March 2007 Weso He talks like he plays, utter shite. Next season hasn't got nothing to do with this one. Hopefully next season we won't have freeloaders like him. He obviously didn't see us last season where we finished strongly, that hardly helped this season did it.
Mort Posted 24 March 2007 Posted 24 March 2007 Doesn't he realise he won't be here next season The nasty thought this gives me is Rk and AJ both here next season
Leicfox Posted 24 March 2007 Posted 24 March 2007 The nasty thought this gives me is Rk and AJ both here next season I reckon they both will be, scary tbh.
Mort Posted 24 March 2007 Posted 24 March 2007 I reckon they both will be, scary tbh. Please dont say that... not disagreeing just please dont say it .... Milan's better than that I'm sure of it!
Leonisco Posted 24 March 2007 Posted 24 March 2007 "But seriously, I can't put my finger on the reasons. Oh, I can, Andy. It's cos overpaid tossers like you swagger around the pitch doing fook all, therefore allowing the other team to beat us. Honestly, I think that mole is blocking off the blood to his brain.
lookwhaticando Posted 24 March 2007 Posted 24 March 2007 Don't you all trust Milan to do the right thing?
lookwhaticando Posted 24 March 2007 Posted 24 March 2007 Oh, I can, Andy. It's cos overpaid tossers like you swagger around the pitch doing fook all, therefore allowing the other team to beat us. Honestly, I think that mole is blocking off the blood to his brain. If you're going to slag him on appearances, slag his hair. Personally, I think the issue is his hair is now ingrowing, and that's what's fooking with his brain.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 March 2007 Posted 25 March 2007 I hadn't realised he was injured, I thought Kelly had dropped him and had gone up ever so slightly in my estimation. Well you're back down a notch now, Rob.
Geo V Posted 25 March 2007 Posted 25 March 2007 AJ will be trotting around for someone like Bristol City next season with a little bit of luck. He isnt a Leicester City type of player and needs to be booted out.
Koke Posted 26 March 2007 Posted 26 March 2007 "He is a fans' favourite because of these qualities (and also for cricking Andy Johnson's neck during a training session.)"
DB11 Posted 26 March 2007 Posted 26 March 2007 that made me laugh so bad. And I'm sure the Wikipedia MODs would remove it if they knew They're like that you see......
00rawat Posted 26 March 2007 Posted 26 March 2007 Just want to ask is Andy Johnson leaveing this season or staying for next year any one know?
Ric Flair Posted 26 March 2007 Posted 26 March 2007 Just want to ask is Andy Johnson leaveing this season or staying for next year any one know? All depends on whether Nob Kelly stays or not. Johnson's contract does expire this summer.
Geo V Posted 26 March 2007 Posted 26 March 2007 All depends on whether Nob Kelly stays or not. Johnson's contract does expire this summer. I thought he had another year left on his deal??? That is good news if we can just release him.
Suffolk_fox Posted 26 March 2007 Posted 26 March 2007 I hadn't realised he was injured, I thought Kelly had dropped him and had gone up ever so slightly in my estimation. Well you're back down a notch now, Rob. Please bin your sig Fez, it's scaring me.

Ah, The Johnson philosophy! I get it now, Fook up the beginning of a season and dont bother until the last few games, as this will help you gain promotion the season after. Applies to fooking up the end of a season and starting sh!t
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 March 2007 Posted 27 March 2007 Please bin your sig Fez, it's scaring me. I knew it'd get to someone eventually. I like it.
