Basingstoke Fox Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Noticed it on Sky Sports. Maybe a video screen along the way now??
Bert Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 They were only there for the Sky cameras. If you noticed the camera view, the game was being viewed with the cameras viewing the West stand. The advertising boards you're on about were only in front of the West stand.
Matt Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Yeah the normal boards were still there, the electronic one was just placed infront though.
Matt Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 there was a camera recording from the corner of c2 tho And there was a camera in the corner of the West Stand/Kop
filbertway Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 And there was a camera in the corner of the West Stand/Kop Isn't that C2
Bert Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Yes but the game was viewed from the east stand on Sky. The other cameras are there for reverse angle replays etc.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 7 April 2007 Author Posted 7 April 2007 Yeah the normal boards were still there, the electronic one was just placed infront though. damn I thought that being able to have more advertisment would give us more money
Matt Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 damn I thought that being able to have more advertisment would give us more money I suppose in theory it would, We get money for being on Sky.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 7 April 2007 Author Posted 7 April 2007 hope so we could keep them if were really good and ask nicely
davieG Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 I doubt they had anything to with Sky although they were obviously there because we were on Sky. My view would be we paid off the 'normal' hidden advertisers knowing that we would get more revenue for a one off basis from Coca Cola. This was possible to do because MM doesn't have the cash flow problems and business restrictions of the previous board.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 7 April 2007 Author Posted 7 April 2007 ok so what about a video screen? fratton park got 2 nice flatscreens with MM there - watch goal replays etc. then.
Bert Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 ok so what about a video screen? fratton park got 2 nice flatscreens with MM there - watch goal replays etc. then. Where would they go?? Corners of grounds?? Pretty much anywhere would block someone's view.
Wils Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Southampton have a screen hanging below the score boards if i remember rightly? And there ground is designed the same as ours.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 7 April 2007 Author Posted 7 April 2007 Stadium is never full anyway we might aswell use it in place of some seats
Floating Fox Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Whats the point of a TV screen? There to watch the footy not tv!
Matt Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Where would they go?? Corners of grounds?? Pretty much anywhere would block someone's view. Well as quoted below we hardly fill the ground so put a TV in one corner, close the corner off there you go (Probably the one where Fusions Resturant would be the best one) Stadium is never full anyway we might aswell use it in place of some seats Exactly. Whats the point of a TV screen? There to watch the footy not tv! Replays, You think its a Penalty but not sure? They'll show the replay on the TV. You missed the goal or it was so good you want to see it again instead of waiting till the next day for the highlights? They'll show the replay on the TV. e.t.c
davieG Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 £2mill on screens or £2mill on players to try and get out of this awful league. It's a no brainer.
JoeyB Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 £2mill on screens or £2mill on players to try and get out of this awful league. It's a no brainer. Screens nah its got to be players
Matt Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 £2mill on screens or £2mill on players to try and get out of this awful league. It's a no brainer. Well obviously, players, but i'm talking for the future. Priority is on the pitch, but once we have that sorted - Although can't see it being a very easy or a near soloution to that.

Can't see the point of them myself.

Matt Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Teams aren't allowed to show offside penalty decisions etc. Really? Why is that? At the Tottenham v Man Utd match i'm sure they shown a penalty decision that was turned down (I think) during H/T because it was on Sky and if I remember right Richard Keys said something like "They've just shown the penalty decision on the big screen and it hasn't gone down too well with the fans"
