Head Honcho Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 Not sure how much financially we suffer by being relegated but I'm sure if we get off to a flying start and gates are high next season we'd be better off. .........................and won't it mean MM will have to pay less to the former shareholders to buy the club?

Fez of Mahrez Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 I don't claim to be well up on the financial side of things but I fail to see how relegation could possibly be a good thing money-wise. Gates will not be high for a start.

I doubt they'd be higher than if we are still in the Championship and We don't have to get relegated, just not get promoted for him not to have to pay the shareholders, even that is chicken feed compared to the riches he would get if he can get us into the premier.

davieG Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 Not forgetting he's still got a Stadium to pay for that we can't even afford in the championship.

Ok we won't have as many season ticket holders but I'm sure Forest have a higher average gate this season then last(don't quote me on that) they've had decent gates anyway. ...........and like someone has said already the drop from 2nd to 3rd isn't that much financially.
lee7 Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 if we get relegated and then win league one the average attendance will be a lot lower than it was this season [18000]
Daggers Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 Why don't we have a poll to predict what the average attendance will be in League 1 - it is a really interesting subject
Fez of Mahrez Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 He said "if we get off to a flying start", people like to follow winning teams. Yeah but not in League One. Can't wait to see the club marketing Blackpool at home. IT'S GRAYSON!!!!!!!! Yeah but the drop in money between the championship and league One is nothing compared with Prem to Champ. No, but it's still not a good thing. I'm not so sure you know. I don't think our fans will turn out in the same numbers that Forest's have. We were down to 20,000 paying customers at most at the start of the season. I think that will be our average in League One. Think how much we struggle to fill the stadium this season. I don't think winning would change that. The past four years have had a big effect on a lot of our fanbase. The apathy is overwhelming. Season ticket sales would go down, we wouldn't be able to attract the same quality of player as we would in this division, people would be less willing to spend extortionate prices on a game-by-game basis when we're playing the likes of Northampton.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 i think were just grasping at straws here, there are no positives about dropping into league 1 except maybe nigel worthless might not be here
