Flexx Posted 17 April 2007 Posted 17 April 2007 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/england/6558291.stm England v South Africa today with South Africa currently 4th and England 5th. If we win then we will finish 4th and go through, South Africa will go out. If we lose we'll go out and South Africa will go through. Its massive COME ON ENGLAND
Ric Flair Posted 17 April 2007 Posted 17 April 2007 I liken England to Leicester, although the cricket team have more talent in their team. They both under-achieve. The law of averages would suggest that perhaps one of England or Leicester will get a decent result today? Bollocks, both will lose.

Its massive COME ON ENGLAND Yep, this combined with the Birmingham day is going to make today most stressfull, going to be a difficult day, will need lots o beer .
Milky Posted 17 April 2007 Posted 17 April 2007 Yep, this combined with the Birmingham day is going to make today most stressfull, going to be a difficult day, will need lots o beer . Judgement day is upon us! just lately every sporting event seems to have turned against me, one of the last people i wanted to win the masters was that Zach Johnson, it wasn't god you fool, you did it, anyway, today is a biggun, time for the tide to turn. COME ON!
Geo V Posted 17 April 2007 Posted 17 April 2007 Gutted that this match is on today, a day I travel up to cheer the City lads on. I`ll get the first couple of hours of the game in so that will be enough time to see us 47-5 after 25 overs . We need to see an improvement in performance as the South Africans love a slog but I fear that Andre Nel, a pain in the backside bloke but a real warrior will have enough in his locker to scare half of our weak top order. I also feel that too much is put on KPs shoulders anyway but today we may see the big man crack under the pressure of facing his "real" country. Vaughan needs to score some runs along with Fred Flintoff if we are to have any chance of winning this. I must admit I fear the worst.
Brainy Posted 17 April 2007 Posted 17 April 2007 I'm feeling confident England can do this. I am too but when Vaughan goes for a duck then it'll change
Flexx Posted 17 April 2007 Author Posted 17 April 2007 England: M Vaughan, I Bell, A Strauss, K Pietersen, P Collingwood, A Flintoff, R Bopara, P Nixon, S Mahmood, J Anderson, M Panesar 5 for 0 after 5 overs, thats poor
Wycombe Fox Posted 17 April 2007 Posted 17 April 2007 Great news! We're going to accelerate to 1.5 an over soon!
davieG Posted 17 April 2007 Posted 17 April 2007 I think the wheel has fallen off of Englands wagonwheeel
Flynny Posted 17 April 2007 Posted 17 April 2007 What the hell is going on? If they don't accelerate now we might as well concede.
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 April 2007 Posted 17 April 2007 What the hell is going on? If they don't accelerate now we might as well concede. Dreadfull start, it is a bouncy pitch though. Don't want to swing at a bowl that doesn't need to be played and get out early AGAIN do they . We've gone from one extreme to the other.
Geo V Posted 17 April 2007 Posted 17 April 2007 NO BALLS That sums us up. Vaughan batting like its a test match has put pressure on bell as the run rate is the worst in the WC so far, probably ever, that has built more pressure and now Bell has a lash and gets himself out. An absolute disgrace that we are not even fighting here and I cant watch anymore. Im off out.
Geo V Posted 17 April 2007 Posted 17 April 2007 They are just playing like cowards. Why dont they take a chance? They had Mal Loye who lashes out but kept him at home, they have Flintoff who is an allrounder whose batting is his second best discipline so its worth promoting him up the order like Sri Lanka do with Sangakarra and the Aussies do with Gilchrist. 19-1 from 9 FFS
Wycombe Fox Posted 17 April 2007 Posted 17 April 2007 ****en hell it's going to be a long day. That'd make a change for an England game!!
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 April 2007 Posted 17 April 2007 That'd make a change for an England game!! 10 and 9 off the 9th and 10th over. We're going to need some more overs like that to reapir the early damage thats been done.
Brainy Posted 17 April 2007 Posted 17 April 2007 What an idiot that Andre Nel is. His stupid appeal doesn't belong on a cricket field.
