Ric Flair Posted 25 April 2007 Share Posted 25 April 2007 Joe has been named in the England Under 17 squad for the Euro Championships next month. But they fly out there fairly soon, I wonder whether that means we are going to have him now for the remaining two games? Or perhaps we'll let him go after the Barnsley game should we get be mathematically safe. It would be a shame to not let him go, as it's great experience for him. But on the other hand he's been fookin brilliant these past two games he's started.

We need to let him get experience at his own level and age, especially because a mistake or two will go unnoticed there and thus allow him to try new things without the worry of letting down the team. Porter will hopefully cover for him.
Bert Posted 25 April 2007 Share Posted 25 April 2007 He'll be a key player for us next season! If we're safe after Barnsley i think we'll let him go early but if we need him then im sure the FA will understand.
Jimmy Posted 25 April 2007 Share Posted 25 April 2007 there isn't the same rules when it comes to U17 international football, if we say he doesn't go until after the wolves game then there's fook all they can do, especially as the player would almost certainly prefer 1st team club football to U17 football at any level

Im not so sure if he'd want to stay and help if we are safe come 5pm on Saturday.

Joe. Posted 25 April 2007 Share Posted 25 April 2007 If he's not needed here then it seems a shame not to let him go really. Playing for your country is surely fantastic experience and he shouldn't let it slip.
