lookwhaticando Posted 30 April 2007 Posted 30 April 2007 I know there used to be a topic on Saxondale... many months ago, but it's deep in the bowels of General Chat by now, and unsearchable - even with a torch. So... who's seen it, and what did they think? It airs over here from Thursday, and I'm wondering if I should peg back the old expectations a little...
coale39 Posted 30 April 2007 Posted 30 April 2007 IMO its good. Not bad not great Defiantly worth a watch.
potter3 Posted 1 May 2007 Posted 1 May 2007 It was alright, the first couple of episodes were the best I think.
mancunianfox Posted 1 May 2007 Posted 1 May 2007 Anything with Coogan in it is recommendable but Saxondale was one of his more average characters.
Strokes Posted 1 May 2007 Posted 1 May 2007 It was quite funny, not his best but definately worth watching.
Strokes Posted 1 May 2007 Posted 1 May 2007 Well I'd certainly watch it if it came back on. UK gold2 shows it most nights.
lookwhaticando Posted 1 May 2007 Author Posted 1 May 2007 IMO its good. Not bad not great Defiantly worth a watch. It's Coogan, so that was never in doubt as someone else has since stated. My intention was always to watch it, I just wanted to throttle my expectations to ensure I avoid disappointment. If you go into a comedy thinking it's of Partridge-proportions, the chances of disappointment are very high. Same with American versions of British programs - the expectation is high and you're always massively disappointed by the result. The Office, Coupling to name but two recent examples... I bet they even manage to wreck Life on Mars. :pinch:
