No surprise really.

They were reading out some of the messages that had been sent in to SSN and I was surprised to see the number of Newcastle fans that thought he wouldn't make a difference. They were saying Shepherd needed to go before they could turn things around on the pitch.

What’s the big deal? They’ll be no better off than what Bolton are now.

Newcastle fans are a bunch of delusional retards. What do they honestly expect to achieve?

The idea of Allardyce coming here was ridiculous. Why would he ever swap life at the top for the equivalent of repairing earthquake damage?.

I'll make a prediction. Ince will come here, carrying the flag he so publicly waves for black managers, and he'll load our team with big, strong, fast and skillful winners.

The softies will be gone cos Ince will first demand we get the ball and he'll bring in people who'll not only do that but will know how to keep it. Our proportion of black players will increase considerably and so will our on-the-field presence.

Skillful footballers like Weso and Porter will either get mean and relentless or get ditched, the choice will be theirs if they're lucky.

People like Hughes, Stearman, Maybury and Fryatt will have no chance the way they were this season.

And gates will surge because we'll have the biggest female support in the land... :D

Collectively our team's been too small and unassertive for too long. Don't kid yourselves that size doesn't matter!

When did the dream start?

As soon as he was sacked.

But come on allardyce was linked with England job so i doubt he would come to us after that

But come on allardyce was linked with England job so i doubt he would come to us after that

He had a short list of Newcastle and a £39m transfer kitty and being able to keep teh transfer funds he gets from trimming down teh squad, waiting for McClaren to mess things up in the next few weeks and become England manager, take over from Pearce at Man City or jump aboard the good ship Leicester. I cant believe he is not coming to us lol

Big Sam at Newcastle is a marraige made in heaven. I expect them to be a top 6 club next season as the bloke is a top top manager (two tops there you see)

It still didn't stop people suggesting it.

Meaning when we either fail to qualify for Euro '08 or do very poorly and McClaren get his much deserved boot... it'll be between Allardyce, Wenger and O'Neil, added motivation for them to do well next season and I'd have all three to do well with their clubs (he said unaware of the amazing way in which this would come back and bite him in twelve months time).

Ive just spotted this!!!! Arent you the same Thracian that has been banging on about Weso and also his new central midfield partner Levi Porter, with the giant Hume playing just in front of them in a 433 formation????

Im in tears on this one lol

How can Allardyce moan that he wants silverware when Newcastle havent won buggar all in ages.

Of all the teams looking for or are likely to be looking for a new manager, Newcastle are best placed for silverware.

They're a team that's wanted silverware so badly since the last time they won any - around the time Stonehenge was constructed, if I'm not mistaken.

They also spend money occasionally, something another club (Man City for example) seem unable to do, at least for now.

Perhaps, most of all, he believes - and wants to prove - that he can cut it where so many other men have failed.
